I replaced the speed sensor (rear axle) in my Ram a few hundred miles ago because the speedo kept bouncing all over then eventually wouldn't read over 10 mph. Now when I come to a stop it starts bouncing and soon after the ABS and Brake annunciator lights come on as before. It is intermittent also but is seems once the needle starts bouncing on a start up that it continues to do so until it is restarted. When I am driving at any speed it reads correctly. Now a little background info. This truck sits a lot. It is primarily my tow vehicle. 04 model with 41K miles, 4x4 and only rear wheel ABS.

Hopefully someone here has seen this, I don't like to venture to other boards.

It even does it with the key on and engine off.

Those seem to be a common problem on the newer trucks.

on our 02 it self destructed and took out several teeth on the R&P gears. was a warrenty repair and the new sensor did the same thing, minus the destruction of the gears again.

it took 3 or 4 sensors before they realised the sensors were all junk out of the box.

Sounds like some great Quality Control going on with these.
