The picture says it all. About 18 months ago I noticed the telltale bulge on the bottom door seam. Dug around with an awl and oiled the entire door seam from the inside. Dont think it did much though until today as I was bored and decided to have a look see and found some nice rotting going on :(. Not suprising considering theres nothing protecting inside that seam there. The E-coat/dip primer didnt penetrate into there.

The plan of attack is to source another door without the telltale bulge (even though its going to be rusting inside there I'm sure). Swap the doors out and take this one apart to really fix it right. While being fixed I'll strip the door to clean metal and weld all the cracks around the hinges, reinforce the hinge attaching area. and replace the lower door skin and replace the inner rotten lip with new metal.

All of that being said I've got no welding equipment to do that. for a welder I've pretty much narrowed it down to a hobart handler 140 (http://www.tractorsupply.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay_10551_10001_36277_-1______?rFlag=true&cFlag=1). Its only 120 volts ( I do have 230 available though) because I'd like to keep it mobile and I think for what I'm after 120 will suite me best. Any good or bad things about that unit ?

and for any other autobody tools eastwood company
