I just bought an 87 Daytona Turbo Z, what's the weight difference between an 89 Spirit and the 87 Turbo Z? I want to switch everything to the Daytona.

Rattlesnake,
87's were shelby Z's with pop-uyp headlights. 86's were the open headlight set-up. Which is it??
Eitherway, depending on the option load, 2800-3100 lbs for the shelby Z. Badass has an 87 that is not stipped, but he was able to get it to 2750 raceweight.
Spirits are 3000-3200lbs

it all comes down to the sad fact that it doesnt matter what the year is. daytona=fat pig :)

I have to disagree on the fat pig part. If you get an early daytona with no ground f/x and no power options they are within a 100-200lbs of a GLH. If you have full ground f/x and all the goodies the weight will hit 3000lbs+ My T-top 87 ShelbyZ weighs 3120 with me in it, no spare, 1/2 tank of gas. Basically my race weight. A buddy's 88 Hardtop ShelbyZ weighed over 3200. But the early strippers were light. A late C/S would probably be pretty light too.
