Anyone know much about them? I have one sitting in the driveway I am supposed to sell for friend, anyways the wife told me I should buy it to drive to work instead of my diesel... So Im thinking about it. Any good websites on info on them? Its a fwd stick, and thats about all I know about it.

Should I just stay away? lol.

We had a customer that could keep the old Audis alive for cheap, but they were only that, alive.

One of my friends had one and the parts were expensive. I can't say much as far as reliability b/c his was already dogged out

I had a 90 Quattro (same body, but more upscale interior/enignes). It had the V6 and it was a frieght train in any conditions. I loved doing 4 wheel drifts in it in the Chicago snow...

Hated my audi, parts were expensive and it was always breaking. But I do say for a FWD 5 spd the car was awesome in the snow, dirt or mud. Get it on asphalt and a CAddy had stiffere suspension. My TD's are much more reliable and cheaper to run and get better MPG.

Already talked my self outta it... Im a long weekend away from having my NY back on the road (motor assembled whoo!) and I need to just buckle down and do it! Then I can start on another project, lol.

i seen one the other night coming home from work. first time i have seen one of those in a long time! it was really nice too - whoever owned it took really good care of it.

i have really been liking the newer Audis lately, escpecially the 2.7T cars (early 2000 model A6/S4). unfortunately, just maintaining one would make it an unreasonable purchase even if the car was well below book :(

Audis can be wonderful cars but you need to be able to work on them. Usually the simpler they are the more reliable they are. Best to have 2 so one is always running. They can be a bit of a commitment.

I love them though and am pretty good at keeping them going. This is the last one I had which I sold to get my GLHS. It's a 1991 200 20v Turbo (1 of 150 wagons imported) capable of 160mph top speed running 24lbs of boost on stock internals!

They can easily go 200k+ miles without a lot of trouble but best to do some research and figure out what you're getting in to. Parts are a bit more scarce/expensive than turbo dodges. I almost busted a gut laughing when I went to buy a brake caliper for the GLHS and it was $24. :D Rotors for that Audi are over $150 ea and have come down a lot!
