I want to put a 523 in my GLHS and i was wondering if i need to change clutch disks also. any good tips from those that have done it.

What year is that A523?

You'll have to convert to cable shift or build your own version of shift rod stuff.

i know about how to convert everything i was just wondering what clutch to use i beleive it is a 1990 trans

That should be small spline, so you should be able to use the same clutch.

If it is 1990, no need to change the clutch disc.
