'99 mini 3.3L.
good heat at 1500 rpm and above. Below that, cold air.
Radiator full, water pump less than 10k miles.
Ideas?

Blown head gasket, bad thermostat or partially plugged heater core-do the CLR trick.

Head gasket - compression is good in all cylinders. No loss of fluid. No bubbling in radiator.
T-stat. . . can't remember if I changed it in this one or not. I was definitely sure I did until now, I may be confusing it with the old mini. Guess I better replace it anyhow.
CLR - how well does that work? Was thinking about doing this to the mini and the truck. How long do you let it soak in there before flushing?

Remove the heater hoses, get some bulk stuff-enough to sit up so you can pour in the CLR, blow out the core to remove the left over coolant, fill with pure CLR, let sit about an hour, hook up a garden hose and reverse flush, aim the hose at the ground, blast the hose and use some air to sort of shock it, keep back flushing until clear.

Anyone replace the heater core? Or know of a thread on how to do it the easy way?
