BENDIX BRAKES!

All in all, it's a pretty decent looking car. I have another door coming for the rear driver's side to replace that rothole door and just need to find a clean hood for it.

Part 2 below...

Also did some other good work today on it. You'll love this quality repair... I'm very proud of it. :)

Passenger side rear wheel well rot action...

And what the hell is THIS?! How does something rust THERE?!

Well, sanded that crap down to metal again and applied some of that magical "RUST FIX" in a can to it... about 6 coats of that and let it dry for a while. Then decided to get creative... I want this thing to last and stay looking decent... so here's what I came up with.

Here's that inside corner that rotted out... not anymore it won't.

Rear pass. wheel well... nice and happy now!

But why stop there?!

Passenger side!

Both sides are coated from the pinch welds all the way up to where the plastic trim is that starts the interior. I also did the insides of both front and rear wheel wells as well as the lips on them all to make sure this car stays safe. Mega protection!!!!!

Piss on Dynamat! This'll do just fine to get my trunk to stop rattling and costs a LOT less.

My very good friend here... but an expensive one... does a damn good job though.

Overall... came out really great. As long as 604 stays nice... I'll be set! Just need to get some leather seats now...

Nice pedals man, do they help you heel/toe better?

I forgot about those ugly piles of garbage... those are getting removed ASAP and stock pedal pads are being reinstalled. They're actually sharp! Since I wear flip flops as much as possible... that's not a good thing.

Looks like it could be a decent car once you get it back to stock! You still coming over here today?

pretty car, crap engine.

Yeah, I'm on my way here in about five minutes.

The 2.5L V6 doesn't seem so bad once you learn how to work on it. I know that the biggest issues they have (thanks to having a Chrysler Mechanic as a good friend) is the distributors are a cam sensor/coil/distributor all in one very gay package... and they are NOT cheap to replace when they fail. That's okay though... I've already grabbed one from the yard and will be grabbing a few more as spares... and the fact that the upper intake has to come off to change plugs and wires is pretty dumb... until you realize that pretty much every FWD car with a V6 engine is like that now :( so I ripped apart a junkyard one to figure out how to do it... and it's actually not all that bad especially when compared to Ford's fine family of garbage V6 engines like the Duratech 2.5 and 3.0 series used in Craptour, Tauroooose, Lousar Cougar, and other piles of trash.

good idea. Actually yeah the engine itself is pretty stout, honestly have never seen one blown up. Just the crappy distributor, and they are like $900 lol

I'm going to give this Cirrus a rice rating of 3.5 out of 10. Some F&F graphics and a 24" Supra spoiler would definitly get you more street cred.

Wait until you have to do a timing belt in that chassis.....they suck to do. Otherwise, the plugs are easier than they look(like you said) and the motor is solid.

Is it as bad as changing a water pump on a 94 Grand Prix? (Engine must be half removed to do this...)

too bad it wasnt a 3100 grand prix, thats just about the easiest FWD water pump there is.

Anywho, those are good cars. Drop in a 3.0 shortblock and put some cheap transfer gears in the 604 and you'll have a decent runner too.

The timing belt... ugh... I'll make my mechanic buddy do that LOL.

I heard something about using a 3.0 engine from some Mitsu car in these... but that's too much work. It's just a DD... quick enough as it is. I have my loud as hell Neon Coupe for going fast.

You must be talking about a 3.4 twin cam.

Yup, I think so. I did one as a favor to a girl I knew 3 or 4 years ago. Figured a 4-8 hour job right? You know the manual calls out something like a 30 hour estimate on that? Boy was that not worth it... Didn't help I somehow skipped a tooth on reinstallation, fixed that though.

QUAD CAM... Ick. I heard horror stories about those from mechanic buddies I know.

I used to work for Olds, they weren't that bad once you figured them out. It was figuring the damn things out that sucked. lol.
