Hey guys,
My grandfather recently went into a retirement home and sold us his 'old' car. I bought it to replace my GTS as a daily driver...hopefully one I can just drive w/o working on once a week. ;)
Anyway, it's a 2000 Mitsubishi Dimanate. Pretty nice car, loaded, leather, etc.
The only issue I have with the car is the brakes just seem to be a little shady. She's got 4 wheel discs, btw.
What I mean by shady is that they don't seem to stop NEARLY as fast as I think they should.
Yesterday I pulled all the wheels off and the rotors looked fine and the pads had plenty of meat on them.
Usually when I have brake problems, pads or rotors need to be replaced and things are good again.
I figured I'd post this up before doing more research...;)
Anyway, the car had sat for a few months in a garage..maybe even up to 6. But I've put about 300 miles on it since we got it...and they're still crappy.
My only guesses are:
Maybe I need to flush the brake fluid.
Maybe the rotors are glazed or something (if that's even possible).
The car only has 50k on it, btw.
Any direction you might point me in would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
