heres the deal.
i am parting a 87 shelby z, it is almost complete right now. i dont have the current extra space to store large body parts and interior pieces and this car is way too solid for it to go to anybody besides a member who needs it.

the whole engine bay componets including harness and ecu will be taken out and various trim and small things from the interior, maybe the door panel, console and shifter too.

this car was a southern car untill the last few years, it spent a year or so in NY and passed inspection 1/07 then in early 08 it found its way to OH and now it sits in sterling heights, MI.

DETAILS:
87 shelby z, T2, T-TOP, red paint, grey cloth, rear disc, full power, solid southern car.
this car is completely straight, no accidents, no dents, only 1 ding on the pass fender! the spare tire well doesnt have any rust and the t-top and hatch seals DO NOT leak! its also not all oil soaked, greasy or grimy on the undercarriage and suspension, its actually dry and pretty clean.
the car has 6.5" crabs in good shape, not perfect, but not curbed or oxidized bad like most. tires have good tread but are dry rotted. car has new shocks in the back, good calipers, pads and rotors and a few brake lines were replaced, along with the fuel filter.

THE BAD:
the clear coat was baked and is flaking all over the top side of the car, fender, hatch, hood, etc. but shines on the sides, no surface rust anywhere, easy sand and paint.
there is only 2 minor spots of rust and they are on the underside of the car. one is a 2"x3" soft spot in the tunnel above the down pipe and the other is a tiny spot between the ground effect between the seam by the ebrake cable, but the area where the cable goes through the floor is solid! easy fix if you do it now instead of later.
the cluster was converted to digital from an 87 lebaron, cutting the wire for the digi dash plug, but the digi dash burnt out. it could be rewired back to stock with a few inches of a donor harness, analog cluster and a little tinkering.
the window scrubbers are cracked bad and need replaced.
headliner sags and the fabric is worn some from the edges of the board, driver enthusiast seat is a little worn on the center section with 2 tiny wear holes, bolsters are great though.

i know there has to be somebody within driving distance that has a good running, modded Z that could really use this solid roller to transfer everything over too or somebody who wants to build a BadAssPerformance hybrid lil brother.

will trade for a rust free roller turbo van in similar shape.
asking $500 with the crabs and the exterior complete and most of the interior complete, will negotiate with leaving some parts on or taking some parts off to change the price.
$400 without the crabs.
if you just want it to replace your rusted body and dont need the interior, mirrors, lights, crabs, etc. $250
pics will be up by lunch.

i am equipped with a hitch and dolly and am willing to deliver to your garage for gas and time within 2-3hrs from detroit.

i would love for this to go to somebody who needs it instead of the junk yard, but i cant keep it here for too long, especially if i start removing exterior parts and it becomes an eyesore to my neighbors. so if your interested, dont hesitate, i am willing to work with you on it.

josh,
shoot me a pm or phone call. I'd like to work something out for this roller. Who did you score this one from. Looks like it used to be yogurtslingers old car.

If you are considering parting the car out, I would be interested in getting the rear hatch interior panel:

Josh there didn't happen to be a NY plate on that car when you bought it was there???

That's the Shelby Z I sold last year... I can tell from the crappy dash wiring, on the way to selling it the digi-dash in the car caught fire... Some kid in OH bought it off me, I figured it died by now.

Crazy! Reason I ask about the plate is the kid didn't bring insurance/reg or anything with him, I reluctantly let him use my tag and I never got it back :(

gary, that is definetly your old car. the whole digi dash fried FET chip deal, no plate or you could have it back, but it still has your NY inspection sticker on the window. yup i bought it from the weird kid with the metal in his face in OH.

jason, i'll call you.

JT, as soon as i seen how straight and clean it was, your car popped in my head and i seen the potential this one has!

Yeah my buddy was driving the car from my house in NJ and about 4 miles from home I see him pull over and start banging the dash. I run back to the car and a puff of smoke come out... Even though we had a spare dash, he drove it the rest of the way without.

That kid was pretty weird, didn't know how to drive stick, let his friends talk for him...

I only owned the car for a few months. Replaced the lifter and drove it maybe twice. It stayed under a cover almost the whole time. Ran pretty decent too.

Hopefully you'll find the body a decent home.

yeah well his weird --- let it run dry and seized up the crank, was told it was just leaking coolant from the turbo line and he included a set of ss from fwdp. he kept the other dash you guys gave him along with his new msd coil, wires and cross drilled rotors.

i think it might wind up in good hands with jason.
