busy day yesterday, installed new headliner:

thanks to Lou's Upholstery, Manchester, CT for the re-lining and thanks to Jonny B. for donating the correct NOS center retainer.
and then put in the new AEM wideband gauge and threw the old Autometer narrowband gauge into the obsolete pile (anyone want that for $10 you can take it).

Looks good. How "correct" is the new fabric?

KEVIN color wise its a dead ringer but thickness wise i think it looks a tad thicker but i couldnt seem to find anything that had the correct texture and color but was a little thinner. so i settled for this. to my surprise, taking a headliner out/in of an omni is as easy as bolting on a wheel.

I had mine recovered for the Shelby Charger. It was also thicker like your's. I wasn't really concerned about it being correct. My GLHS needs a new headliner and I want it to be as close to stock as possbile.

Interesting comment from my upholstery guy concerning "L" body interiors. He said the seats were done in fabric about the quality of headliner fabric!!! As long as color is spot on, I don't think the thickness will deter from the car.
I just traded a daytona hatch with defrost and nice condition '90 daytona front and rear seats to a buddy he's doing 2 "L" body headliners for mje

I did a headliner at home with Jo-Ann fabric's actual headliner material. it actually turned out awesome, and was only a day long project. It was pretty good looking, but not correct for you S guys.

"...As long as color is spot on, I don't think the thickness will deter from the car....."
agree with that, also of course the texture should be similar they do make some headliner material that is more "solid" than "woven" our cars had a more woven appearance in the liner.
btw i paid $100 for the re-lining mat'ls and labor. i have zero patience or skills with working with fabric.
i was looking at the headliner in my '04 jeep its just about the same stuff as the omni. bet it never falls down though.

CLAY yeah its the lousy light, i had a yellow-plastic drop light hanging in the car so photo color is weird but in person its spot on.
