604 shifting late... should I be worried?

going to look at a car tomaro its a 92 with a v6 and 604. The timing belt is broken so I cant test drive it. When I asked about the transmission, he said it was fine but he always thought it shifted late to 2nd, around 2500. He said it has being doing it for the past year he has owned it. Should I be worried or this a normal thing/easy fix?

BTW Im going to look tomaro morning, so if you can reply please do asap.

A604 is TCM controlled it tells the trans when to shift I wouldn't worry a the trans shifting at 2500

The timing belt is what you have to worry about , did a water pump seize or the belt failed from old age?

Not sure. Ive fixed both thou, if the water pump seized and took out the belt I doubt it got real hot. Car has 133k on it.
