THIS TURBO IS BIG. The car ran 7.9 at 86.8 MPH with the old tractor turbo Super 60. So the long and short was went to the store fillped a U turn hit the gas heard the old Bang followed by volumes of smoke out the tail pipe. So I limped home and ordered the GT30 from chris at Turbos Unleashed. I thought why put an old has been turbo back on the car when I could just spend about two grand. Some of you may be saying my car cost 1000 well its got 83lbs per hour injectors and a Cal from Boyd "Ugly old Omni":bump2::thumb:. Thanks Boyd also thanks also to Butch for installing the GT. Well its off to Irwindale to see what she will run. Will update this post in the morning with times and MPH

I'll surely be interested to see how that acts on your car. Boyd doesn't put together junk, and it'll be neat to see a real world deal with that compressor wheel on an 8V. Theory says it shouldn't be so hot... but theory is often wrong! :)

Good luck, let us know!

Absolutely. It worries me more that the SRT4 crowd has such issues with them surging. They just spool way faster on those cars than any other import based platform. Perhaps then it wouldn't be a problem for our cars... I hope this gentleman will let us know!

In my experience srt guys always buy the smallest turbine housing possible. Lack of brains/forethought has a lot to do with surge :P

Okay Chris informed me its a GT30DBB sorry for the mistake. The car ran 86.8 at 8.03 with no tuning. Felt like I needed more timing so last night at the Shelby meeting Boyd change the wiring to show knock through the engine check light. I will be going to the track again thursday armed with the lap top and a timing light to advance the timing. Boyd mentioned that I need to remove the Cat and after removing the insides run a 3 inch pipe through the middle and reinstall. Obvious big restriction in my exaust he never mentioned before his cat is hollow as described above and installs a real cat only for smog testing.

Heck yeah that isn't bad at all. Getting to nearly 90 mph that quickly is gettin it for a turbo 4.

Ah, I had called Chris last night to mention this to him as he was headed to the Cali meet. Sounds like you have a good running car there!

About 11 oclock last night in the Applebees lot, Boyd did a bit of cal tuning:eyebrows:. I was suprised how freakin smooth that thing idles with the #83's. Seeing as how AMoparRacer laid down the gauntlet to everyone at the meet, maybe I should go out to Irwindale next Thursday with the S car. it will be the end of the RevLock clutch for sure:( You said I just have to MPH you, right Lynn? No way I can match your 60' (or probably your times) on streets and granny shifting...

Bring it on little red car cant wait to whip up on a Mazi motor car. Dont be mad the car will be quicker this next trip to the track. He did not tune thursday night he made the check engine light show knock so I can add a little more timing.
