Guys, I need an average parts/price list of doing a rebuild on a T-III.

I may rebuild one of my spare T-III engines for the Shadow vs. going 8v.

All of the machine work is free... as I work at an engine shop.

What unique parts am I going to need to gather? I will go with a different turbo and rods may be the K-1.

Trying to plan out the build up cost-wise before making the decision of selling my new 8v go fast parts.

What kind of power goals do you have in mind? What turbo are you planning on going with?

As for rebuild stuff, how do the rockers and cams look? Those are the first real "wear parts" and if both are good then your cost will be alot less. I would strongly suggest Titanium retainers when you go through the head,so,theres about 250ish.

I may just make my own ti retainers for the lower installed heights or look into different springs (or... become lazy and just buy them)

I will most likely need new lifters, or chance the used ones I have.

I wish to go w/K1 rods and reground cams. Never inspected the rockers... but have spares.

Turbo... unsure... I don't want to post my power expectations as most people post "dreams" vs reality ;)

But, I think the 50 trim won't cut it... step up from that. haven't researched yet.

Rockers are very expensive from the dealer so cost is basically what you can get them for.

ARP head studs, $110
Cometic, $100+
TIII MP gasket, $60 or I just modify a 005
Lifters, $340 I think.
CAms-whatever a regrind costs and I wouldn't use Delta.
Head-whatever it needs but you'll have that covered.
I am making new timing belt gears, ;)
Timing belt-$40-$100
Tensioner?????????? price the market will bear.
Valve cover gaskets-$40 each
Int/ex gaskets $40-50 I think.
I have some OE valve seals I can sell for $50
Bottom end is the same as an 8 valve really.

Cam seals are in the alternate parts list, top of this section. Thermostat and waterbox, match up at a parts store.

PCV tee-FWD or dealer

Cam sensor-used or new
Crank sensor-used or new or you use a newer one and splice in
Coil pack-used, new or use a Neon one and rewire.
