Hey Guys,
While I'm replacing the head, I figure it's time to get my radiator redone. So far, it looks like my best option is just going to be getting the stocker re-cored.

The car had "semi-working" A/C before I installed the intercooler a few years ago, and I'd like to keep the option open for a/c as much as possible. The car still has the a/c compressor on it, but no condensor.

It's got the stock GLHS radiator with a 1080cfm spearco up front. The radiator is currently in the stock position.

Any ideas other than re-coring the stocker?

Here's a pic of my setup currently (with the radiator removed)

Thanks in advance!

I'd upgrade your alternator to a 120amp one and get a better fan instead.

A fan will help when you are not moving, but I think he is still going to need more radiator. The GLHS radiators were marginal in stock configuration. Ad a bunch of power and put a 3" thick intercooler in front of it, and I think it;s gonna run hot on the highway.

I had no problem in AZ weather with a TII radiator and this IC.

I have a TII rad, and the same IC mounted in the same place you do. I don't have much in the way of shrouding for the rad since I don't have anything where the stock IC would have been and I cut a little to much off the pass side. I have a 16" fan and homemade shroud on the rad and it runs ice cold in all conditions.

I know that the GLHS rad is a little narrower, but I can't see it running hot if you have a good fan since my temp gauge won't get above 180 with the fan on even in 90+ degree heat on the freeway now.

Eric, it looks like you might be able to fit a stock N/A one in there. I would try talking to some radiator shops and see what they can get you. Should be some in So Cal. You could try Summit racing, but it won't be a direct fit.

Thanks for the advice guys! I just got back from the radiator shop. I'm having them re-core the stocker and make it 1 inch wider, since I have room from where I ditched the stock intercooler.

2 inches wider it would be the same width as a TII radiator. GLHS is roughly 13" x 15", TII core is 15" x 15"

Looks like he is leaving room for the piping on the left from his intercooler. Heck, 1" wider will give it a little more cooling ability. It won't run hot.

I'm thinking a VW Scirocco radiator would work pretty well for that car. Summit sells nice low-profile dual fan setups for them too.
