okay i got 2-1/4 IC pipe on the lower and upper, but still have the stock airbox which the IC pipe is a part of connected to the TB, but thats 2", how much is that affecting performance, if any?? also my TB im not sure if its been replaced, anyone know if the stock 46mm can be read as 46mm from the front ?? cause without taking the TB off the opening of the TB is 2" ID which is basically 52mm ( 52mm= 2.05" ) so would i be rite in thinking it has a 52mm TB on it or...? :o

If you are measuring the OD of the TB then it is certainly 46mm.
I don't think that the airbox is all that restrictive at moderate power levels.

I see. Why not pull it off and measure the back side to know for sure? It's just the two 13mm nuts. I really don't know the size of the outside of them in relation to the blade though.

did some searching, 2-1/4 pipe is for 46mm , 52mm is 2-1/2" pipe, so i guess its 46mm, that was easy enough, lol!

That sounds about right, although even a 52mm TB is a little smaller than 2.5" It is about 2 3/8ths You really have to jam 2.25" couplers on there or give the 2.5" ones some extra squish. you're probably right that you have a 46mmTB though.
Having just changed my shadow back to a 46mm TB, I can say that I wouldn't rush out and change to the 52mm job, but to each their own.

HAH! I have a custom upper plenum and a 58mm 3.8 High Output V6 minivan TB and the throttle response is insane! I'm thinking about building an adapter to try out a 52 or 46 again :)

Are you saying its bad or good?
I am using the 58mm and honestly think its crisper, no bogging and less lag,

I don't know if it's good or bad yet. It definately has me recalibrating my throttle foot. I'm also a 5spd vs an auto. I bet it's pretty great on an Auto. With my 5spd I've really got to hold my foot still in the middle of a bumpy corner so as not to start to slide the front end. Before I could just mash it and go or at least relax my foot in 1 spot.

if i were to do away with the stock airbox and run a new pipe to a open filter mounted up near ther battery, what would i do with the pvc tube going into the stock airbox?? run a lil filter off the valve cover?

I ran mine to a K@N filter or you can run it the the new air cleaner or if your engine is tired, use a catch can.

i did see a few pics of yours when i was searching, i guess what im confused on is if i do similiar to what you had with the oil cap breather into a catchcan, i would just connect the pvc line from the thin metal tube off the intake rite into the back of the valve cover? or if i run a filter rite off the back off the valve cover just keep the pvc line going into the valve cover also??

maybe going from bigger (custom plenum) to smaller (tb opening) give better throttle responce over going from smaller (stock elbow pinch) to what seems to be bigger (stock tb)
