It's that time again, the Ohio Valley Chapter, Shelby Dodge Auto Club's season ending drag racin' BASH, TURBOPALOOZA!!!

WHERE: TriState Dragway, Hamilton, Ohiya - near Cincinnati
www.tristatedragway.com

WHEN: Saturday, October 25th - 12 noon till 5 PM

WHAT: We invade their Tune & Test with Turbo Mopars. :amen:

WHY: It's a great time, all are welcome, cars running or not.
Make new friends, see old friends, put faces to screen names.
We often get 30 + cars from all across the Eastern/Midwest
USA, and even Kanada!
It has turned into one of the bigger events in the Turbo Mopar
community, come and see why!!

And after the racing, an afterparty at an undisclosed location.... :eyebrows:

Usually held at Edgewater, a change in their schedule forces move to TriState - No biggie.

If the weather is bad, then we invade the indoor Kart track in nearby Lawrenceburg, Indiana.

It's a Win / Win!!! :number1:

BE THERE!!!

More details to come.....:D

UPDATE: Due to several schedule conflicts, we need to move this to October 25th....Mmmkay??? ;)

I would just like to say that I had some of the most fun in recent memory last year. That Mustang GT Turbo was well worth the drive alone. I still find myself laughing about that from time to time. Great people and a great time for sure.

I really want to be able to make it again this year, but I will have to see. I bet Joy has class again this year. Fingers crossed.

I say moving it forward, back into October isn't a good idea. I am good with the original date (Nov. 1) or the following Saturday (Nov. 8th).

I guess I'm to blame for this as I just posed the question, "will this interfere with some people's Halloween parties?" I hope that didn't lead to all this mess. I won't affect my plans but I was just asking about others.

Just set it for the original date and be done with it. :thumb: Problem solved. I have no intentions on missing it, but if for some reason work or something else conflicts, so be it. Anyone who can plan for this either is planning or has been planning to be there for a while, so I would stick to your first instincts and say 11/1/08 or for AustrianDodge, 1/11/08. :D

It's hard to plan to Get Togethers like this for only one weekend. As everyone here knows it is a fun event and nice to see old friends and meet new ones. If you miss this event this year make sure you come to the Spring Fling 2009.

Tracy, I'll be fine with whatever date is chosen. I'll try to make it out there.

Well, as I stated back in post #42, I was not in favor of moving it back into October from the original Nov. 1st. That is and was the traditional and original planned date so I scheduled my weekends accordingly a while back.

Oct. 4th & 5th --> Camping
Oct. 11th & 12th --> Wedding to attend (Not mine!!!)
Oct. 18th & 19th --> Strip roof to prep for new roof to be installed the following week by bradp
Oct. 25th & 26th --> Autumn party out of town
Nov. 1st & 2nd --> was Turbopalooza...now I could attend a Halloween party

I agreed and made plans to attend the party since 'palooza was scheduled for Nov. 1st, then a week or so ago, the date was changed. Sorry gang.

I hate to do this here but i'll be there in my new non-turbo mopar. Also,i was wondering if anyone has a 89 style t-2 crank they'd like to get rid of for a decent price, along with a crank timing pulley same year. Also I need front and rear seal covers for a common block if anyone has them. If you have any of this and are coming, shoot me a pm or something with your prices so you don't have to lug this stuff around if i can't afford it. Again hated to ask this in this thread but I appreciate it.

Not sure if this is the best place to post, but I have a set of rear interior sails for an L body I will GIVE someone at TP for free. I have no need of them as they are dry rotted in the typical sun baked areas. If someone was determined, they could be cleaned up and possibly salvaged in the dry rot areas as they are bad on the surface in most places.

So if you want them let me know. Otherwise they are going in the garbage before I leave. Call Jon, 901-240-9059 if you are interested. Ken probably doesn't need them, but I will call dibs for him right now. :)

Let me get this straight. I needed a block so I decided to look around. Andy messages me saying he has a 2.5 NA block. I decide to just get the Turbo Block off Sexygomer 2 years ago that he had out of one of his donner cars. About a year ago you get at the NA block off Andy and then you sold it to Sexygomer because he needed a new one. That's funny.

Clay I'm making some of those shifter cables with the quick release ends. I was going to poll to see if anyone wanted some, but I didn't have the time to get orders and I won't have the shift rod parts I need. If you want to bring yours to TP, I can take them home and do a set for you.

Also, if you want a new lower wiring harness, bring it and I'll make one up for you. :D But I'll need some money for parts.

EDIT
Hey Reeves, just realized I wrote shifter cables; I meant shifter rods! Sorry for the confusion, but I can still make sets of the rods. They should work ok for the 555 or whatever cable-shifted transmissions that can be converted to rod-shifted.

REMEMBER Kaintucky has "favorable" prices on CIGS & LIQUOR!!
So be sure to consume all you buy before transporting more than your allowable limit of these back home(across statelines).Cause everyone you know would be wanting to buy them from you, at a small markup! But that would be BOOTLEGGIN!! and thats just wrong!:eyebrows:

I'm making a set for Ken. If the set of pieces I got at the yard will work with Ken's stuff, I'll either use his at TP and keep these or give him these and use his for cores. Either way I will have a set of cores and will start making them for whomever, you included. :D

EDIT
Hey Reeves, just realized I wrote shifter cables; I meant shifter rods! Sorry for the confusion, but I can still make sets of the rods. They should work ok for the 555 or whatever cable-shifted transmissions that can be converted to rod-shifted.

I didn't know Ken was going back to rod shifted....

I'm going to try to convert a set of cables with rod ends.

it looks like your moving backwards?!?! I thought the last pic just needed a head? now you need an entire engine/trans!!!! ;)

Im taking Friday off so I can either (a) swap in my TBI cam w/ adjustable cam gear, or (b) put the new lifters in w/ old cam. I really hate going racing with a different setup, when I know the old one works well.

While swapping TBI cam and adjustable cam gear, you could put the lifters in as well!!! That way you have (a) and the important part of (b) done!!!

Needs a clutch. Although it doesn't look like it, it's actually getting closer. I just gotta replace the freezeplugs and the clutch and the engine's going back in. A couple of friends are gonna help me get it back together by saturday. I'm gonna drive it up there. As to whether or not I race it depends on the way it runs. But it'll be there :)

Clay, why not bring it to the track make a few runs and swap cams and make a few more? I'm sure you could find a few people in the pits to help.

Hmmmmmmmm thats an idea I guess. ;) I might weight the possibility as Im taking the TBI cam out of the other car. It would be a no-brainer if the track was open all day, but I think we have a 4 or 5 hour window. That would be run twice, swap cam, run twice more..... hmmmmmm thats still not bad ;) I would like to see what the car would do on a stock cam w/ GOOD lifters in it! hehe

Update:

Doppler 2.2 weather says rain Friday into Saturday AM, 30% chance of R*in Saturday afternoon, highs in the upper 50's.

And remember - if it is wet, we go to the indoor kart track in nearby Lawrenceburg, Indiana for serious corner carving.... :thumb:

I have the OVC TurboPalooza awards for best 60 ft., best e.t., and longest distance driven to the event. What will I do with them if it rains? We run with our legs 60 ft. ? We race slot cars for the best e.t.? We give them away next year even though they say 08 on them?

Let the suggestions begin! :thumb:

The most beers consumed in the "mad scientists" garage?

The most times you can make fun of Ken and his bad habbit of breaking parts (broKen, leaKen, etc).
