This isn't the first time, seems as though they like the crisp air down there also. They must get big $ to rent the track on a Sat.

Whats wrong with the 8th, it's sooner!

The 8th looks to be a real possibility. The only downside is for those that wanted to attend both the Cecil and Turbopalooza events, they would be on the same day, although it seems fewer and fewer people from the the OVC will be likely to attend.

The original date was the 15th but then the mustang guys rented out the track so we moved Invasion day to the 22nd.

Turbo3Iroc
09-29-2008, 10:06 AM
Yes I saw that the mustang group rented the track but the last time I checked in here it looked like the new date was the 8th. Now I see posts edited to reflect the 22nd.

Well I dunno if I'm gonna do the 22nd. Thats pretty late, you guys might get snowed out. Think I'm gonna go to mason dixon on october 25th and cecil on the 8th for my last blast.

The 22nd was actually the original date chosen by the DVSDAC but I mistakenly posted the date as the 15th. The 22nd gives us more time to get ready in between events if people are planning to attend both Turbopolooza and Cecil day.

Snow before January is fairly rare in Maryland, even more so before Thanksgiving. We have a backup date of the 29th if needed. Also cecil is open thru mid december weather permitting.

The 22nd I can deal with but we see snow flying up here earlier. Once the salt flies my cars are parked.

Trying to get my buddy's 16v (Full swap non hybrid) Omni down there from NJ. We've been playing with his stand alone (FAST) on and of during the week (our schedules are too busy to afford any time :( ) and trying to work out the bugs.

This will be its maiden extended voyage. Driving it to the track and racing and hopefully driving it home (about 3 Hours each way) Everyone cross their fingers! We may try to do some boost tuning on the way. :eyebrows:

earlier in the fall would be a good idea, it got cold in a hurry this year, I raced last weekend and it was damn cold, i could only imagine what today is like, ice on the track, its gotta be in the upper 20s low 30s, that does wonders for tire spin. I was trying to get to Island for the last day of the season for tomorrow but couldnt get anybody to cover for me.

If the damn mustang guys wouldn't have rented the track on the 15th we would have been done and had fun already.

But anyway, I thought the ''rain/snow date'' was the 29th? Isn't anybody else going next week?

I wound up going to Atco today as did a few others. Not many cars showed up for t&t, around 40. I rolled in around 9:30, unloaded the car from the trailer and realized I had a frozen motor. When I flipped the water pump switch on, the fuse blew. So it took a bit of warming up to get the water flowing.

By the time I had the water moving and ready to run it was after 12 noon. I rolled into the lanes and up through the water box. Do a decent burnout to get the new slicks warm. Stage, and leave at about 4 psi, running on wastegate springs-12 psi, 1st run:

r/t... -.013 red,whoops
60'... 1.886
330... 4.866
1/8... 7.277
mph... 101.10
1000... 9.390
1/4... 11.201
mph... 123.91

Wow!! I was shocked. The car felt great, drove nice, and pulled hard. Head back to the pits to look things over. Forgot to datalog that run(doh!) I felt that the car had a 10 sec pass in it with a better short time. 2nd pass:

r/t... .319, wow I suck
60'... 1.663
330... 4.523
1/8... 6.897
mph... 102.06
1000'... 9.000
1/4... 10.803
mph... 125.13

Awesome!! I knew it had it in it. If I was able to cut a regular 60' she might have gone low .60 but I will save that for a later date. I did get a third and fourth pass, 3rd pass was a mirror image to the 2nd and for the final pass I tried to load it a bit harder only to spin and ran an 11.23.

I am very pleased with how the car turned out. Unfortunately, a few months behind schedule but I did reach my goal of getting the BSX down the track in '08. Thanks to everyone who helped today. Mike Marra, Ruthie, Gary, Justin Cronk, Kelly G, I needed the support!! I know some of those guys got some good video, so when I have a link I will post it.

Made 4 or so passes, nothing spectacular. Slips are still in the car but my best was only a 12.6 at 110 or 111.

This was a Jr Dragster event and once they started running rounds it seems they forgot about TnT. By 2 most of them had left anyway.

Good seeing Brian getting down the track again. 2009 looks very promising for the BSX.:hail:

I'm all done for the year. Got to roll out to Ohio and visit the family next weekend.

It rained on the 15th too? I know about the 8th, cuz I made it all the way down to the track to find that the gates were closed....also called the hotline and they still hadn't updated it, it said they were open. Bastards.
But the 15th was a decent day in south central PA, and cecil typically has the same weather we do.
So cecil hasn't been open for the last 3 saturdays? LOL, wtf!!! Well I've been looking at weather.com and it's all clear for next weekend. No snow or rain from wednesday on and the temp's in the 40's for saturday. Not that the weather people have always been right, it changes daily, but I'm just being hopeful LOL.

I think it was a coastal Nor-Easter type storm on the 15th. It rained all day here in CT also.

You talking about the lower intercooler hose? I thought Omnipotent has them:

I didn't think you could still get them anywhere else? BTW, I know I still need to pick up my part from you :)

Can't you just use a non-intercooled lower rad hose, cut it down some to shorten it, and put a connector in it? The non-IC hose is $10 at autozone.

Actually Mike I mistyped.....Omnipotent, from the link I sent you, sells the lower RADIATOR hose, not the intercooler hose.

I totally mistyped that, I should damn well know by know your intercooled is far from stock lol. Anyway, sounds like you got what you needed, but the link I posted does have the whole set of *radiator* hoses (still cannot believe I mistyped that lol)
