Okay I need a car, I am looking for something 4dr and of good size. We've beeen driving a stratus and it seems like a good car just no get up and go, Damn 4cylinder.
I found a V6 cirrus 98 with 114K on it can anyone tell me how well these motors hold up?

2 I think I would'nt mind this stratus "if" it was turbo'd this is where I remembered the clouds and phantom's. Does anyone know how I could maybe get one of these? Clouds.

If you are not committed to a Dodge product.
I think the 98 and up Pontiac Grand Prix are a good buy. You can find a low mileage one at a very good price. Get at least the GT model, has ample power, or the GTP for more.

Mike to be brutally honest, i wouldnt touch anything with that mitsu 2.7L sludge motor. it also likes to eat timing chains as a result of oil starvation from the sludge build up.

the 2.4l isnt bad. slow, yes, but all the neon speed goodies bolt up. the indy intake manifold will really make a diff

all cirrus's had the mitsu 2.5 v6, not the chryco 2.7. the 2.5 was a reliable motor, but NOT powerful.

trap 81-82 mph stock. but if you currently have a 2.0/auto it will be a big upgrade! low 17s instead of mid 18s 1/4 w00t.

on the plus side, you can swap in a 3.0 shortblock very simply (for a motor swap) and get a big power boost.

They've got good chassis/interior, decent motor/trans.

'just ok' to work on, definitely not 'for fun' like a k-car.

Ah crap, you're right. Sorry to spread miss-info. cloud cars came w/ 2.5l v6. My warnings about the 2.7L still stand though...

My brother in law has one of these with the 2.5 and its been a great car. Even better than my sisters low mileage 01 Mazda millenia. He hasn't ever had any issues with his. Not much power though as stated above. PT's are nice cars with decent room. I wouldn't hesitate to buy one if I had the cash.

My grandma has a 98 Cirrus with the 2.5L. She used to have a 91 New Yorker with the 3.1. The cirrus has much more power than the new yorker did. I think the 2.5 is a great engine, and gets decent mileage. The only thing I don't like is the V6 doesn't come with 5 speed.

new yorker would have a 3.0 or a 3.3. either one is way more powerful than a stock 2.5. ive had 3.0 dynasty, 3.3 dynasty, and 2.5 avenger all on my gtech and in addition to seat of the pants.. the 3.3 dynasty would do 16.2 stock (usually 16.4 or 5 tho), the 3.0 16.7 stock, the 2.5 never even got low 17s. all with 604 tranny, though the 2.5 had lower final gearing. also seen some dynos for the 3.0 and 2.5 and calculated the 3.3 based on weight. 3.3 did about 137whp stock, 3.0 a little over 130 and 2.5s low 120s. the rated crank numbers on ALL THREE motors are misleading.

:blah::blah: i know, sorry... im leaving.

Yeah 3.3L sorry I had a brain fart. Like I said I've driven both, is the cirrus lighter than the New yorker cuz the cirrus gets up and goes much better than the new yorker did.
