I was a BBQ tonight and a friends dad mentioned selling a car he had, turned out to be a 97 intrepid with the 3.5. Went and drove it, drove nice and the power surprised me. But, it does have a issue...
It gets hot, about once a month, they said they would put a gallon or 2 of water in it and it would be fine for another month... the owner thinks it has a cracked head, but it doesnt smoke and I think it would use alot more water, Im thinking it has a leak some where. But if Im wrong is it common for HG/cracked heads in these cars? Do they cost a small fortune to fix?
They ended up parking it because the front brakes are gone, and it overheated. It has good rubber, and with a good cleaning looks like it would be a very nice car. They are asking $500, which I think its worth.
The car has 154k on it, is there anything else I should look for wrong? Any common problems?
