manuel tranny and need to fill it and dont know where please help..A-555 by the way

Driver's side. There should be a rubber plug in the pan on the end of the tranny.

when it comes out of the fill hole with the car setting on level ground

also, check what fluid is in there, some have ATF, ,5w30, 5w30 synthetic, Redline MTL, etc... depends on who had it last.

OEM is probably ATF... I prefer Redline MTL... most use 5w30 of some sort

well if its from a yard, it should be empty so you can fill it with whatever you want

that would work fine but you may want to go with a friction modifier oil such as redline.

and another thing, when i fill the tranny i put the front end up on ramps to get a little more in there, then take it for a drive and put it back up on the ramps and add again, it gets the tranny completely full and helps keep that 5th gear lubed up.

I know Cliff says don't, but I've always used mobil 1. never had an issue. Most of us in OVC land use it. No additive needed. Shifts beautifully.

I used Mobil 1 before I used Redline MTL... no problems
