Can wheels with low offsets be run on our cars, like a 15x8 zero-offset? If it will 'fit', what are the disadvantages aside from possible fender clearance issues?

You will look like a mexican in a chevette! Nuff said.

Far as I know zero offset has the wheel center located exactly there, in the wheel's center, not offset. Positive offset in varying degrees pushes wheel center farther and farther out to outside of wheel. Negative offset pushes wheel center in toward car body.

I've been on the net half the day trying to find good old fashioned zero offset wheels and nowadays all that's made are the blasted positive offset circus wheel in 16"-20" diameters. Several even have the spokes outside of the outer rim edge! I think they look dumber than a chicken with a Mohawk, but that's just me....

I've been looking at this wheel for my Omni because I like the old school look and deep lip.

They have 15x7 with a 38mm offset, but also 15x8 '0' offset. Some cars can pull it off; maybe an Omni GLH can too?

Actually, I like those rims. I like the 15x7 with the 1.5" lip.

0 offset will probably stick out. Measure your current wheels to the lip, stock is around 40mm, so then measure 40mm and see where they sit. Simple,

Not only 40 mm out but an additional 25 mm for half the the 2 inches wider it is.

The 7" 38 offset looks like your best bet. I highly doubt an 8" wheel will fit in a L body without modifications.

Thanks guys. 15x8 appears to be wishful thinking, let alone the zero offset. Call me crazy but I'm thinking a set of gold 002 wheels would look really cool on my black/tan Omni. The 15x7 still has a pretty decent lip on it and with a 38mm offset I'm sure they'll fit fine. Maybe even go 16x7?

I'd go out and measure for myself but my Omni is buried in the garage at the moment:o

the Beretta GTZ had 16x7 5x100mm, think it is 35mm offset
I found at set at the yard, going to use them on my omni

They almost touch the strut, max tire size is a 205 unless you use spacers so I think they are a 45 or 48mm offset.

yeh the beretta/corsica wheels have LESS clearance then our stockers. ive seen various beretta wheels mostly on spirits and they look good but as said your tire size is limited..

of course you could get 5mm spacers from ebay for cheap and run em on stock studs and thatd probly make it ok. ~

I've found other sources saying 38, 42, and 45mm offset for the gtz rims. UGH

i think its gotta be 45.. there are some beretta/corsica wheels that wont even bolt on because they hit the caliper from being spaced in farther.

i would guess its only the gtz and gtu 16s that are even worth picking up.
