Anyone camping out? If I go I don't think I could afford a hotel, but I'm up for free camping. I even have a big a$$ tent. Brummy- I live close maybe we could roll out together? Dont think ill have my omni together but my mini would be useful camping!

You live in Morrow, OH? Mapquest shows you down by the Nati in the southwest corner of the state. I'm about an hour from the OH/PA border on I-80.

Hotel rooms look to be in the $75-110 range. Hows the nightlife in Norwalk?

As of right now I'm in. I have to make hotel arrangements and decide if I'm coming up Friday night or Saturday morning. Also have to figure out what class I will race in. I'd love to race at Norwalk again and see if I can get deep into the 11's :)

There is no pre-registration this year just pay at the gate. Just tell the gate keepers you are doing the club challenge and pay them. For the Buckeye Chapter Club Challenge I have to submit a list by 8-29-08 of roughly everyone doing the challenge. Then we just have to sign the list like we did last year.

I just booked my room for Friday and Saturday. Total was $125 for both nights. Staying at:

Days Inn Milan/Cedar Point South
11410 State Rt 250
I-80/90 & State Rt 250
Milan, OH 44846 US

That was with a AAA discount. 5.5 miles from the track. Much better than the 40 miles I drove to the hotel from national trails.

Also - I just got an offer to have my car trailered up with a truck better setup to tow (instead of my pitiful 3.7L dakota).....so sounds like I will be there pending wife approval :)

I believe its just a car show between clubs.
I just go for one day and my GLH is no where near a show car, so I go and hang out and hope they give the show car field a few fun runs down the track.

Oh I see. Looks like these are the classes to choose from:

Quick 16 - $115.00
Hemi S/S - $100.00
Max Wedge - $85.00
Super Pro - $85.00
Pro - $70.00
Sportsman - $50.00
Truckin' - $50.00

Sportsman and the 10.0 class seem to be the only choices for me. Guess I'm going with sportsman brackets.

The old wagon was a running son of a gun Sunday at Mason Dixon. I ran 3 classes NSS and All Motor Index for Mason Dixon and I had to finish the rained out last Three rounds of AMI from the beaver springs raceway race.
I lost in the 4th round of the MD AMI Class
I won NSS over the second in points, Comet wagon
I won the Beaver Springs rained out race.
17 runs down the track
11 of 12 were wins
I new I could not win the 4th round AMI as there was not enough time to get back for the 5th round beacuse I was in the semis of NSS oh well.
I almost feel like a 5oh joe with all the wins
I run two series's. 422 Allstars and the Ram Racing Na AMI Class
I am points leader in both with 2 races to go.

It will be Great to see 5 oh Joe again. I hope Joe you are not running the NSS class. you are tooooo good for me.

i just called up their track and they said they werent sure if they were offering on site camping yet and to call back closer to the event (2 weeks isnt close enough?)
there are other campgrounds nearby, but wouldnt be included in the racing fee.

also their spectator rates are $15 on friday, $20 on sat, and $15 on sunday OR $30 all weekend.
and if you are racing you do not have to pay for spectating like rob mentioned.

Yeah I was looking forward to being there! I haven't canceled my room yet but it is going to be tough to come up. I just found out I have to go for some training that week before from 9/8-9/12. Getting back into Cincy at 8pm I won't be home until 9. I'm hoping that this trip confirms that my old oil leak was purely blowby by boosting it up a little more than usual. Highway miles should help confirm this thought. No, I'm still looking for a place to stay for the weekend. My tent is back in MN. So if anyone has an extra spot, let me know!

I got 205/45/16 Yokohama S-drives. They're the brand new Yokohama tire. They're going on a set to SRT4 ACR BBS wheels. It should look sweet on the GLHS....

LOL, nope. All the neon and shelby dodge stuff is so very very cose on offset. I've had neon wheels on my Shelby, and Shelby wheels on my neon. I don't have them mounted up yet, but I'll post picts as soon as I do. I'm supposed to get the wheels and tires mounted and balanced tomorrow. I probably won't get them on the car until this coming weekend.

However, I did get my new wheels/tires mounted and balanced last night. Can't wait to get them on the car and see how it looks.

It was cool to see the die hard fwd gang. sorry i did not get a chance to talk to anyone. I made two passes the first one was with the nitrous as a spool up and off at 18 lbs and 24 lbs of boost. the 2nd one was with the nitrous on all the way down the track and at 28 lbs of boost. on the 2nd run I miss 2nd gear and went right in to 3rd:mad:

Nice Rob!
So obviously the track was in good condition.
I was wondering when I was watching them scrape the track if was going to
be ideal.
Thats probably the first significant rainfall they've had in 2 months.

Nice runs Rob!!! Did you get your convertor fixed as well? Sorry I didn't make it...I was busy blowing up trailer tires on the interstate and then drug sniffing dogs checking out the interior of my pimp van.

Wow, wish I could have stayed around to see those runs! Might not have made it back here until Monday though if I had.

The track crew at Norwalk has to be one of the best around. You guys are very fortunate!

What did the Neon with the V-6 run?
Jay and I stopped and looked at it for a while when we were strolling around.

I don't remember the exact number, but it was actually pretty slow. I don't think it broke the 15 sec mark.
