I need to dye the Charcoal leather steering wheel on my '88 Shelby Z.
Any ideas on a product to use. Will vinyl dyes work or is there something
special for leather?
Thanks

I used black leather shoe dye that I got at Wal-Mart. You will want to scuff your leather with some fine grit (1500-2000 grit) sandpaper. Do it dry. Clean the leather with saddle soap. Let the leather dry and then apply the shoe dye. You might want to go with two separate applications letting it dry between the applications. After it is completely dry, apply some neutral shoe polish and buff it with a cotton cloth.

Thanks Kevin.........I'll see if I can find some in the Charcoal color
and give it a try.

You might have to order charcoal shoe dye, if they make it.
