i need to get rid of the stock unit as it sits in the SBEC and i'm no longer user stock electronics.

there's that article in the knowledge center ... but i need the partnumber for the mopar external VR, maybe i can get it here locally...

or maybe someone can get me one and ship it?
i assume there's a connector to that VR, i'd need that one too ;)

oh and last but not least: who has done this conversion and can post some pics? :)

thanks a ton!

Ive got one that I took out of my car when I sold the SDS. Its brand new. I think I have the pigtail for it also. If so, 20 bucks for the regulator and pigtail, and its yours.

Edit: Crap....didnt realize you were in Europe. Might not want to pay shipping on that. I can look at the regulator later and see if there is a part number......in fact, im pretty sure I have the orginal box for it in the garage.

Get a regulator for any 70s-80s gm, ford, or dodge, they are all more or less the same. Usually around 10$ usd.

i don't think shipping will be any higher than like 30 bucks (if put in an envelope and sent air mail)...please look into it.

t3rse, we don't have those cars around here...
and they discontinue most of the parts (except for gaskets and all that kinda stuff) after 10 years!

ebay...a lot of cars use external regulators...fox body mustangs...etc (I think cossie fords use them too)...point being, if you go to the parts store and ask, I'll bet money they have them, as long as you aren't dealing with a moron behind the counter.

i always deal with morons behind a counter :)
well that answers another question -> i don't have to use a mopar specific one...

thanks for the info!

yeah, a voltage regulator is a voltage regulator. if you get one for a mopar, it is the exact same piece as for a mustang.

duh, people over here need an alternator number to get a voltage regulator...
nearly all cars have them on the alternator itself...

sooo anybody have that partnumber for me? maybe i can order it at the dealership like the MP oil pump spring kit

put in that mopar external VR and i measured 18V !!! turned on headlights, wipers, stood on the brakes and it went down to 13.8V, turned everything off again and 18V

:mad::mad:

is that regulator broken? why is the charging voltage so sky high??
