hey guys, its about time i put this baby in the for sale area. I have a Blue/Silver 1989 Daytona Shelby hardtop for sale. Its got the t2 set up with the a555 trans. I bought this off a kid that had no idea what he was doing with the car. I bought it with the intensions of my brother driving it because he was in a bind, well, he never used it..and now it just sits in my buddys garage collecting dust. The car is located about 10 minutes from the ohare airport in the outskirts of chicago. Heres what i did to it.
New brakes all the way around (One new rear caliper)
New Raditor hoses
New Timing Belt
New Cap and Rotor
New Spark plugs
New Rubber fuel lines
New centerline clutch (Put in by previous owner)
Recently rebuilt TU Turbo.(Bought by previous owner, no shaft play)
New Altenator
3in exhaust back to a fart cannon (Never got around to take it off :))
New Vaccum Lines
All 3 motor mounts are new
New Oil Pan Gasket
New Valve Cover Gasket
New Door Pins
I also took off the head and redid the top end.
Has a New Mopar 006 head gasket, with new headbolts
All new gaskets, including Intake and exhaust gaskets along with new bolts
I beleive i put some SS turbo flange bolts on there too.
And now the bads...
- Need a new battery, (i am probally gonna get one to put in anyways)
- Headliner is falling down
- Has a dent in pass. side fender (From moron (Previous owner) kicking it because it wouldn't start)
- Bottom spoiler in front cracked (In pic)
- It pulls VERY hard to the left, I talked to the previous owner and he said he replaced the axles?!?! Maybe wrong ones? The tie rod also look new, Needs alignment?? Dont know.
- Drivers side seat belt was chewed threw? Dog??
- Pass. side mirror glass not mounted (Have the replacement glass, havn't put it on yet)
- Roof paint is peeling, looks like the car had a crappy paint job...
Thats all i know of, I drove the car now and then and it runs like a champ!!! You can drive it home, no problem, i drove it an hour to the storage place and had not a single problem.
The GREAT thing about this car is it barly has rust on it!!!!! Take a look at the pics located here:

The parking brake cable barly has rust on it and works great!...i think this was a southern car brought up here.
I also cleaned the tracks to the power windows and re-greased them up.
I am probally missing things...but thats about it...I was trying to make this as safe as possible for my brother because he would of been driving around 3 kids.
I am asking for $2,000
The car is just sitting in a garage and i am not going to drive it..i would of kept it if it had t-tops, because theres no rust on it.
I have the title on hand (I never switched it from the previous owners name Dont think i do if someone wanted to buy it.)
I am also entertaining trades, i am looking to get a nice running 90+ daytona, 2.5 n/a auto or what ever, just something that has a nice interior and runs like a champ, also has decent exterior.
