My Iroc R/T has stock 16 x 6 Ninja Wheels with 205/55/16 tires on them. i found either 225/50/16 or 215/45/16 and the possible 255/50/16. which is fit best for some street racing/possible drag strip passes on a car with Konis and Eibachs on my stock wheels. Also if they wont fit please tell me why

Have the tire shop test fit them... They will have one somewhere in the size you are looking at.

You want as much sidewall as possible with the DR's... it absorbs a bit of the impact. I will be going 225/50/15's on my GLHS

I too would lean toward the 225/50s. The 255/50 would be a huge tire to get under there, and would be too wide for your rims.

As far as my reasearch over the past few weeks has netted, there are no actual drag radials in the 16" wheel category, that is ones that will actually fit the front end of a car. The 255's are just too huge.

For drag radials you're pretty much stuck down in the 15" area, at least for effective ones. As best I can remember BFG doesn't make their DR in a 16" size. Or once again, it's something very wide directed towards the musclecar groups.

However, sticking with the 16" area, Falken Azenis RT615's are probably some of the best. They are the replacement for the recently departed Azenis Sport, which was known to be a decently sticky street tire, although it uses a stiffer sidewall more geared towards autocross. I would say for street mainly/a little strip use the 615's would be some of your better sticky tire choices if you take wear into consideration a little bit. These won't last forever, but compared to a drag radial they will.

Good call Aaron. It would appear as though the best bet for some BFG drag radials would be the 225/50r15.

Why do you think I sold my 17's?

I had just assumed that you were running a 3.50FD hybrid trans and that it was killing your ratio with a tire that tall? I had never thought about the 17" slick possibilities, as the wheels alone would break my go fast budget.

i guess it will be Falken Azenis Rt-615s in 225/50/16 then. i hate 15s on my r/t i am trying to keep the factory look, even with my performance. thanks for all imput. BFG is totallly missing an 16in market, but i guess they dont care. don't srt-4s have 17in with BFG drag radials?

The 215/40/ZR17's were 23.8" tall, the 225/50/15 BFG DR's are 23.9!

SRT4's have BFG KDW's or KD's, I can't remember, the step under the DR's.

You guy's aren't looking hard enough.

Hoosier makes a 225/50/16 DR that is available through Jegs for 180.

Well I'll be damned, talk about a new product. These must've come out fairly recently. Good find!

Although, I would stay clear of a tread pattern like that for a daily driver that has a chance of seeing rain. The BFG's are scary as is, and they have a tread pattern. I'm not sure how these would manage that. I wonder how long they last? Knowing Hoosier's quick time pro DOT tire I'd assume not very long at all, a very much so slick with a couple of grooves.

Looks like this could be a tire for you though if you want to stay 16's and get a drag radial! 24.9" is a pretty tall tire though, careful of clearance with the strut spring perch if you're on stock styled suspension parts.

When you reach a good powerlevel, the car is worthless on the street without them. I'll be mounting 4 on mine when its finished.

You're gonna put the DR's on all 4 corners Ken? I wanted to avoid that for the wet weather concern. We run the BFG DR's on all 4 corners on teh Talon and I had to drive it into work in some wet weather one morning... wow... easy on the throttle for sure!

I have the 225/50 BF's up front now, and 205/50 Falken Ziex's out back, a cheaper, smaller alternative. That way the stagger for weight is already in the right direction before I get into the suspension. :)

Yep all 4... Car won't see rain... Just want the corners matching for appearance.

If you want them to last a bit longer, the normal BFG Comp T/A KDW looks very similar to the DR's but is a harder compound but still one of the best performance tires available. They'd probably outlast the DR's 2:1. But that's your call sir!
