My friend pulled this off his 2000 powerstroke and we were curious to see if it would work on the race car. Do you think it is too big to run on a 8v? He said I can check it out, I might just do it to see what happens.

Wow, only 19 views? I thought I might get some more input on this. Does anyone have any opinions on this turbo on a 8V?

Without any kind of specs for comparison it is a little hard to judge, but I would think it would work for an all out 8v setup.

That compressor housing looks huge. What is the A/R on the turbine side? Can you measure the turbine wheel so you could get an idea?

Is it the VNT model?

If so, your going to have to figure out how to operate it, either a computer box or something you can rig up or have the fins stuck where you want them.

It will work but I bet it will be laggy and make power way up. For an 8 valve, forget it, ported 16 valve, may work.

I've tried doing some research on it but is seems hard to find info on it, but what I have found out so far is the exhaust side might be a 84 a/r and the compressor side might be a 60 a/r? I wont know for sure until I pull it apart and measure myself.

This turbo has a butterfly in the exhaust just before the down pipe bolts on, I was just going to pull it off and plug off the holes. My 8V setup is a "G" head with 44 mm intake and 37mm exhaust valves and port and polished to match a gasket. I want to run a 16V, but I dont have enough parts to get it going, all I have is a head with valve and no cams and some fittings to do the oil lines.

I am going to try and build it so if it doesnt work I can pull it off and put my Turbonetics back on without have to modify too much. I am also thinking of trying a compound setup so I would have power on the bootom end until the larger turbo spools up. I would run dual boost controlers and guages so I can keep the boost levels down.
