...check out my Charger. Had that since High School. Other than that car during High School I had an 89 Daytona ES...a 74 SE Charger...and an 89 Ford Probe. No pictures of any, didn't have a camera then and didn't care.

Chris...that looks like it saw a few runs on Deer Park Avenue!

Mine was a slime green (not far off from Nitro Yellow Green) '80 VW Rabbit. I traded a moped for it.

I don't think I have any pics of my '88 Ranger 2.9L v6 5-speed, extended cab. When my uncle passed away we bought it from my aunt. That truck did me very well :) I decided to rebuild the motor in shop class in HS and well lets just say that didn't go so great...

Well.....I didnt know we were allowed to post pics of Pontiacs here! ;) (Nice car, Chris!) I think ive posted these before, but this is the car ive had since I was 13 yrs old. My father and I restored it when I was in high school. Full frame off resto. This is the car I took my wife to my Senior prom in. I plan on going through it again when my son is old enough and passing it on to him. These pics are a bit older, but it looks the same except that ive blacked out the grill (like The Judge's).

Nice Goat. and a sweet Dart too. Hmm ponchos 2 Dodge pics 1....

Oh man, that would make me dig out the scanner and hook it up AFTER I dig up the few old photos of that 48 dodge business coupe, or the fake picture I staged in the shop of my 72 Duster Twister doing a wheelie. If you look real close, you can see the jack stand. Then that first summer as a driver and dealership brat where I had a different car every couple of weeks because they kept selling my car....70 Duster 340; 68 VW Beetle that I put flames on ( I don't think I have a pic of that), 71 Satellite Hardtop with a 383 4 speed....Then there were the senior year cars.

I had 4 cars in high school at one time. I started buying cars after I got a job when I was 14 hehe. The only pictures I have are of my truck, which is when I finally got a camera.

First was my 240sx. Did a sr20 swap in it

Bought my Dakota, shortly after I smoked rod bearing in the 240sx.

Got a free 1986 buick skyhawk. (Gas mileage car)

Got a free 1990 Grandprix (winter beater)

Sold the 240sx to buy a supercharger for my dakota.

Sold the skyhawk because it was a piece of ----.

And then highschool was done.

1960 Datsun Fairlady, sorry no pics. 1200cc four, burned rods if you went 65mph which it could not do on flat ground. Naturally, I came up with rods knocking more than once, going down hill.

Hmmm... Well, I guess.... let the bashing begin:

Me taking my wife to prom in my '77 Camaro I drove in high school:

The first er... "performance" engine I built. 402 ci BBC sitting in the Camaro:

http://www.turbo-mopar.com/forums/photopost/data/500/Cam2.jpg

And finally, years later after beating the snot out of it for a few years on the 1/4 mile, here she is just before I sold it:

http://www.turbo-mopar.com/forums/photopost/data/500/Cam3.jpg

I know it's just a Camaro, but I sure wish I would have kept that car, lots of memories... *sigh*

77' Chrysler Newport with a lean burn 440 and dual 2.25'' exhaust with flowmasters no CAT's...although the lean burn went by the wayside with the mopar conversion kit. Raced all my friends in school with it, beat them all LOL. For a lean burn and 4000+ pounds it sure was quick. Good thing gas was only $1 a gallon then because I only got 4-6 MPG thanks to the thermocrap carb and my extremely heavy foot.

Kinda wish I was that smart back then. :(

Bought my SC in 88', and started modifications right away. In the end, the engine shot I included the car would run 12.8's all day long with 18psi and a custom 2.5bar calibration (helped that I worked for Chrysler at the time as I had help with the cal back then).

I've forgotten alot over the last 8 yrs as I haven't had a TD, and as I've been reading here on TM alot of things have changed - ie. forged pistons, rods, custom intakes. Back then, I had to design my own pistons as no one made any, same with connecting rods. Looks like I'm learning all over again. :thumb:

This was my Highschool car, I saved it from a farm in Iowa. 84 Regal Limited. It started out as NA v6 pooch with bad paint and a cracked landau roof. Lots of work, and an injection of Rocket power, and it was a decent car. I always wanted a T-Type Limited, but there was no way I could afford one, or the insurance.

Funny thing is our senior year my best friend bought a 71' pontiac bonneville with a 455 in it. We were both pimpin then LOL.

Unfortunately, when I was 19 I sold the Newport to a guy that was doing demolition derby with it. That saddened me greatly, BUT it was better than seeing it around town all the time making me wish I still had it.

ANOTHER OLDS GUY!
I Love them freaking cars.
My first car was 1966 Olds 88 2 door holiday with 425 super rocket. 375 hp and 480lbs trq.
I need to get pictures from my sister. She found 1 picture from 1988..haha Anyway I wasted Z28's and T/A's every friday night with that BOAT! I am telling guys right now them 425 olds motors are meaner than the 455. My favorite was when I Smoked a 71 GTO one night with that car. I HAVE to get the pictue of this car posted. It was a TANK and a sleeper. A little FYI I found the guy who bought the car and the car was long gone, but I got the motor back 15 years later and I am building it !
Here is a video I found on youtube of a 65 425 olds... WATCH the tire on the olds get ROASTED away and the Stang STILL can't run off!

Yep, you gotta watch out for those red big blocks. Too bad that 350 was all I could find at the time. I did end up getting a 455 about a year later, but I lost interest in RWD cars shortly after and never built it. I'm still looking for a nice Calais 442, I think a built up quad 4 would be a cool engine.

Here's my High School/College ride:

http://www.turbo-mopar.com/forums/photopost/data/562/medium/79_LeBaron_3.jpg

1979 Chrysler LeBaron - it was a work in progress. I bought with 18900 miles on it and it was (10 years old) from an 82 year old man who originally bought it new from my grandpa who was a salesman back in 1979. It was a 225 "Super Six" 2bbl with the A-904. It sure wasn't fast but it sure was reliable! The most expensive repair I had in the 10 years and 115000 miles I owned it was a $300 8 1/4" rear axle from a wrecked Diplomat cop car after the original 7 1/4" rear dropped the spider gears while sitting on a exit ramp. Over the years, I upgraded a number of items from ex-cop car Dippys and Gran Furys. I got the rear springs, sway bar, wheels, and even the 125mph "Certified" speedometer. With the wider 15" x 7" police wheels and larger 255/60-15 tires it actually handled better than it should have and definitely better than the stock vinyl bench seat could hold! I wish I could have kept it in better shape and done the V8 swap I always wanted to do. It would have been a great sleeper.

Hehe, no thanks. I couldn't afford the fuel mileage! Most of the Newports only had a 400, this one had some kind of towing package and whatever it had a class 3 hitch receiver on the back so it got the 440.

Yep, it's a FORD, 901 Select-O-Speed

I didn't get my first car until after I graduated, then it was a 1954 Chevrolet Belair, 2 Door, Baby Blue and White, 6 Cylinder with 3 on the Tree. (no Pics)

My First Mopar was when I came home from Viet nam in March of 1969, 69 Super Bee Coupe, 727 Auto, B5 Blue with Black Vynal Top and Twin scoop Ram Charger hood. Sure wish I had that back (in the shape it was in when I sold it)

Nice Pics Ralph!:thumb: Three Blue cars in a row.,except for the tractor ;)

While my '69 Firebird is my favorite it wasn't my first. I found a few pics and scanned them in over the weekend. I actually started out with a '71 LeMans Sport with the 400/300 GTO drivetrain. I then picked up a clean red '66 4 spd GTO with a 428 for $500. I swapped in the factory 389 and sold it for a $2800. Before I left LI, NY for AZ I picked up a '78 Sunbird Formula with a Buick V-6 and TH350 tranny. I built and installed a new engine using all Kenne-Bell parts. I then added a little NOS and a posi rear to get her in the 12's. That car was a true sleeper and surprised alot of people.:D I picked up my '87 SC when it was only 2 years old. It was repainted in '92. The photo in front of the Cessna Citation was taken at Love Field in Prescott, AZ. There were a few other rides mixed inbetween but I had the most fun in these cars.

84' 2dr s10 blazer 4x4 and then as soon as i turned 18 i had a 2000 2dr 2wd blazer, right off the lot, navy blue. wound up dropping it 4", shaved the roof rack, big stereo system, clear lights all the way around. wanted to t-top it and air bag it, but a 65mph cavalier totaled it in '02.

on the bright side i got into turbo mopars almost immediately after, 85 glht and a 89 turbo van.

thats crazy, i'm 26 and i have owned over 45 cars!!! alot of parts cars and hooptys but probably a dozen real nice ones and over 22 made it on the road with tags and insurance.

i wish i still had my '00 blazer, i washed it 2-3 times a week always kept plent of wax on it, undercoated it with 250 miles on it, took it from the lot and swapped out mobil 1 and again at 1500 and 3000 miles. zmax 3 times a year.
it would have lasted forever.

Your tied for biggest pimp with that one ;) My first car was an 85 SC. I wanted some sort of mopar ever since I was a kid growing up with them and at the time I was 15 and was trying to figure out what would be the most fun for a road trip. I found this one owner 155k SC in pendleton, IN the summer before I would turn 16 and got it for 300 dollars and some baseball cards in 97. It was nearly rust free and the interior was in great shape. Some wiring issues and a POS landlord for my dad and I to send it somewhere that still makes me cringe to think about. The car I actually drove in HS for first time was a 72 dodge monaco my jr year. That SOB was a tank. I took out a gas pump and a chevy S-10 bed until I figured out the blind spots. Dad never took my out to drive but one time in a parking lot and from there I don't know how the heck I passed the driving test and parallel parked the boat for the first and last time. lol. I will have to scan pics of both. I've only got 1 I think of each. My dad still has the lead sled rusting away in his driveway.. Too bad the SC didn't make it instead.

Dang Ray that Buick kicks asphalt!!!! You should show them ganstas in the hood how a drive by is really done. Give em enough smoke they can't breath and get the hell out of dodge;)

In high scool , I drove a gutted '72 Demon w/440 , 3.55 sure grip & Hooker fenderwells , it was like giving a psycho a gun....No pics , they didn't have cameras back then .

What color was the Belvedere originally ?? Looks like Petty Blue paint under the tailight ???

It was a petty blue color originally. When I got it it had been painted a medium blue but was faded. I had it repainted the darker blue. From what I understand the original color was a southern option back then.

Interesting , Petty Blue is a pretty rare color in '66 . Do you have a Fender Tag or Build Sheet ?? I'm assuming it's a 99 paint code ??
I sold my '66 Belvedere II a couple years back , it was a 14,000 mile survivor .I miss that car.....

Thats a great car. My old boss, his ex gf's dad(confused yet?) Had a 66 Belvedere II 426/727 he bought brand new. He was driving it 600 miles every two weekends so he traded the 426 for a 440. I guess swapping a hydraulic cam instead of a whole motor would have been too difficult:confused:. He does still have the car to this day though. I'll take a look at the fender tag next time I go to my dads. I don't know too much about the cars past. It has a 383 hood ornament, a small block driveshaft when I got it. Don't know if you have ever seen one. It has what looks like a harmonic balancer attached to the front, as well as a small u-joint. Best pass was a 7.47 at 92 mph in the 1/8th and the driveshaft never seemed to mind. I really want to restore it but with a family its not realistic at this time, but I would be devastated to part with it. There are WAY too many memories with that car, its like my first born.:thumb:

I found a rule that I like to live by now.

Never ever sell a car that is fun to drive or just plain special to you. Only sell a car you purchased with the intent of selling at a profit.

I have sold two that I regret selling now and I will not let it happen again.

Yeah I regret selling my 85 Ramcharger. It was my daily driver back then that like the Belvedere has a lot of memories attached to it. I actually saw it about 40 miles from my house one Sunday. I drove by it 3 times wishing I had some money to offer for it. The only other thing I regret getting rid of is my 05 SRT-4. When they first came out I said if they ever build white ones I'd buy one. On May 10th of 2005 I did just that. Unfortunatley I needed something more family oriented in Dec of 07 so it got traded in on a Durango. :(

When I was 15 years old there was this 65' belvedere with a poly 318 and 3 speed on the floor (H pattern) I wanted soooooo bad but it was $1500 and I only had like $500 saved for a car at that point. I wanted it so much, but my dad said it needed too much body work to be my first car. The floors were solid, just the rear 1/4's and some bubbling was starting on the fenders. The paint was faded badly and the vinyl roof need replaced. But I so wish I could have gotten that car, it was awesome, so much potential.

I had the same experience with a 38 Plymouth coupe. It had all the bodywork done, except a 50 cent piece size hole in the floor, all the bright work was in the trunk, and the engine had had a 'recent' ring job. All it needed was a new interior. The headliner was missing, the mohair on the seats was faded and worn but not ripped and no floor mats.

My friend and I had the guy talked down from $900 to less than $500. My dad said I would spend that much more money on the interior. :banghead:

The p.o. had moved into my neighborhood a few omnths prior to me getting it. I drove past it every day. I had a 70 340 4 speed Cuda I was working on but was a long term project. My dad had taken my last car and sold it for getting a careless driving ticket. So for a solid year I bummed rides home from school. Rode a bike back and forth to work. Well that Nov of my senior year I got real sick and fell into a coma. When I came out and got to come home, I think my parents felt guilty and my dad called home one afternoon checking on me and asked if I had seen any cars for sale I was interested in. As amatter of fact I did, it was "this blue Mopar down the street". I didn't even know what it was but knew it was a Mopar and I knew I was digging the lines. I liked it more than my Cuda. He asked if I knew of anything newer that I wanted, but I didn't. We went and looked at it but the PS hose was off getting remade so we couldn't drive it or hear it run. The guy only wanted $1200 for it. Then one day it was gone. Long story short, he bought it had the interior, brakes, and tires replaced and brought it home to me on Christmas Eve. Thats probably the biggest reason it will never leave my family. I will sweep it up as it rusts and put it in an urn first.

If it has a fender tag , PM me , I'd like to check out the #s . I've always been into cars with odd color schemes . I keep looking for a '70 Super Bee that is something out of the ordinary , keep finding SOS .
Mopar did strange things with driveshafts , I remember the inertia ring like you describe , scarier yet were the earlier ball & trunion style ....eek

Funny , I've had about 100 Mopars & only really regret selling a '71 GTX bought in '84 . It was a Bahama Yellow , 6bbl , export car , completely loaded with the exception of wheels (hubcaps ) & heater delete ....it was cool !!! I miss driving them , but always manage to find something new to fascinate me !!

I talked to my dad and the only car he regrets selling was his 1971 GTO Judge Vert. He picked it up in Farmington, NM with 9K original miles on it, had it sitting in the garage for a week. He back it out a little to work on something and some rando came up and offered my dad 25K CASH for his car right now. My dad said sure, signed the title, and two years later learned about Ebay. I guarentee you that guy sold it for a lot more than he paid for it.
One of 17. Go figure, huh?
