What i want to know is does this make your car run hottier. My new setup is like this and im worryed about not getting enough air to the radi on hot days. I just bougth a 30.5x12x4 intercooler and it takes up room. The radi is brand new from a T1. I know they do this to the minivans by running cummings intercooler.

I have a 4" thick intercooler. I think its about 33"x16" its large. Its sitting in front of my small minivan radiator and mine runs really cool. No issues here. As a matter of fact it completely covers my radiator and then my tranny cooler is in between my radiator and intercooler.

Just make sure all the air that goes into the nose goes through the i/c then through the radiator. You need at least the factory air deflector bolted to the lower rad support. I like to run the S10 airdam which looks just like the 84-86 TurboZ's had. http://www.pnw-sdac.org/gallery/main.php?g2_itemId=632

do this and you'll have no worries. Air will always take the path of least resistance. Just remember that.

The real question would be, "Who doesn't?" ;)

I have a large NPR in front of the stock radiator on my GLH Turbo and I did not have any cooling issues. The intercooler core is only 2" thick and the fins are not very dense. It is not nearly as dense as the A/C condensor that was there.

If you have front end like a 89 Daytona Shelby. Yes, it will more than likely cause your car to run hotter. See below pictures and you can probably figure out why. I need my custom radiator to be made...

No problem with running hot here.

My omni ran hotter with the IC in front of it, but the air isn't forced through it very well. I recently replaced the 14" fan that I had on there with a flexalite 16" one and it will keep it at 180* in the 90s now.

The Daytona runs fine as long as I don't run the A/C in slow traffic on really hot days and I don't race the car on a road course. :) Of course, it has the early G-body GFX which connects the nose to the core support.

I really need to make myself one of those.

Well my factory gauge will read about 3 bars below the hot warning with no A/C in 95+ heat when the fan kicks on. After that it's about 4 bars from the low and fluctuates in that range until I get out of the city and I have a pretty big FMIC.

Get a better fan first! ;)

I need to do the same. That IC completely covers the condenser and the stock fan just can't pull enough air through that IC, the condenser, and the radiator fast enough to keep the car from slowly overheating. I plan to kick the bottom of the IC out a few inches to allow some air to get around it along with installing the most powerful fan I can find. The tubes just block too much airflow methinks.

Should you add another fan on the front to push from one side and pull from the other? That would definitely create some air flow.

I have already installed one. :thumb: The temp gauge doesn't get above 180* now. :eyebrows:
