TDC and cam position question?

My engine is apart so I can't check but if the engine is at TDC and you have it setup like your putting the timing belt on, so cam sprocket dowels aligned, is set up at the #1 compression? I need to know so I can grind notches into the exhaust cam for #1 at TDC.

doesnt matter, just put the #1 piston at TDC and align the cams. The computer/flywheel handles the other details

Thats not the reason but thanks. I don't have a flywheel either, ;)
