Its the last weekend in July at Santa Pod Raceway and im planning on driving the RT over. I'll be sure to post up pics of the UKs best offerings from the Mopar scene.

Im planning to give it a blast in the RWYB on the 1/4, but its totally stock.. what can i do to get a little extra go on the day? Can i loose the boost control? raise the boost 1 or 2lb? I'll have an ice pack ready for the cooler, thinking about just unbolting the exhaust at the downpipe.

Don't intend to blow the thing apart, but there's gotta be some little tweaks that wont hurt in lil' 14 second bursts...? need to beat some v8s!

Open exhaust is your friend..... ;)

One of the best / cheapest things to do on these cars.

Pulling out the air filter maybe....

if you are going to drop the DP, just make sure that the shifter cables aren't directly in the way or the exhaust gas will melt the plastic off of them. Shouldn't be a problem on a stock car. Also, take it for a couple of runs where you get up into boost so that the computer can get used to the lack of restriction. Otherwise you might hit cutout which will just make you run slower.

Thanks, so loose exhaust

Im sure the boost is held back til like 4000rpm? can't i get rid of that? which pipe? where?

If you can cut out the cat that would be a great improvement. You can then install a piece of straight pipe in its place. If you had a cutout you oculd install it right after the down pipe that comes out of the turbo.

basically something like this installed right after the DP before the cat if you can fit it and don't want to lose the cat.

well i bottled it in the end, didn't get 2nd fixed in time and having driven it there, and being reliant on it to get us home again, i thought it better for it to be a static display car rather than run it and brake it. (have no breakdown cover either :o)

It was only after being there a couple hours Tom said "you should have said, we'd have bought it over in the van..." Take a look at all the action from the final day by Clicking here (http://www.front-runners.net/gallery2/main.php?g2_itemId=1993) enjoy!

The ultimate dual.. (IMO)

Too bad you didn't get to run the car, but it is better safe than sorry. Thanks for the pictures. It was pretty neat to look at all of those and know that they are in Europe.

Thanks mate, I was all registered and free to join the queue, but something inside just kept saying 'no, you'll break it and be stranded' :D I was far too busy running round looking at everything anyhow, there was far more stuff than got pictured, they really are a snippet of what was there.

I was really impressed at the size of the Mopar scene here, since never been to a Mopar specific meet previously, you can see rows of concourse and custom cars in the background of a couple of the shots, a great day out, maybe go for the weekend next year...

Gareth,
Thanks for the beautiful pics. Looks like someone even had a Sox & Martin car (or clone) there. From here, it is hard to imagine that number of nice old Mopars are in Europe.
Maybe you can find a track closer to your home to get the R/T out to get some times on it. :thumb:

Thanks Ralph, there's a track 40 minutes away, but concrete... The Pod is the best surface in Europe..

If you want any shots in full quality, let me know...
