I have looked all over the internet (including E-bay) for 1" wheel spacers. I need them to fit a 5 x 4.5" bolt pattern. It seems like 1/2" is the thickest spacer on the market.

1" is a crapload of spacer! Most places dont stock them cuz no cars have that kind of stud legth to accomodate it. Maybe you could bolt two 1/2" ones together?

I am going to replace my 2" studs with 3" studs. This is for my drag only truck I'll have the money to finish in around 22 years.

Try this place....they start at 1" ADAPTERs and go up to 2". The older Fords with reverse dish wheels use these to put newer Mustang rims (which I sell) on their cars. I have even sold sets of deep dish 10.5 wide wheels to rwd import owners to get the clearance they need for BIG tires.

I can get you a set of 17 x 9 and 17 x 10.5 rims for $545

I put some one inch spacers on my '70 300 with no issues at all. I can't remember who I bought them from but these look like it http://stores.ebay.com/CJ-BARGINS they are hub centric

I wasn't looking for ADAPTERS. I've googled spacers and looked for them on Jegs and Summit. I guess the adapters may be the way to go. I guess I could put my 2" long studs in the adapter.

I wouldn't want a 1" spacer in there, especially in a race application. I think that's just asking for broken wheel studs. I'd trust these a lot more being hub centric and double bolted.

I think a spacer that big is unsafe

the 1" spacers have wheel studs pressed into them, the spacer bolts to the hub and are hub centric, you mount the wheel to the spacer just like mounting it to the hub. I don't like running spacer either, but I have them on my cruiser with no issues at all.
