Rear Caliper Mounting Question

I am finishing up getting my 89 shelby rear brakes installed on my charger and we have a quick question:

-For bolts that hold the calipers to the bracket do they go in just to the end of the bracket? I ask this because if I keep screwing them in they start to hit the pad on the piston side.

Did you forget to install the adjuster pins/spacers in the calipers?:confused2: They should limit how far the mounting bolts go in....
