This one is probably Larry Buford in his sweet RWD Shadow. IMOP, hes out of his mind......drives that thing from all kinds of distance and runs 11's and drives it home. If I tried that, I wouldnt make it past the end of my driveway on the way THERE!

This one, I dont know, but I know we had people from FL (Reaper) and TX (FWDP).

+1, I think LarryB & Reaper probably hold those records...

Reaper not only drove and drag raced, but also took it on the road course! Thats Badass! :thumb:

Yeah, those guys both were awesome for driving so far then racing the pants off their cars before returning home.

I plan on putting 2300 km on the Shadow next year and dragging it. Hoping Simon comes my way ;) and we head down there, but that would mean he would have driven further......

Not to mention Chris broke his car a couple days before he left and had to throw a new clutch in it to boot. Nice job man!

Well I only ran a 14.2, but I did drive it there and back and drove the road coarse and the drags. Actually, quite a few of the cars at the road course were not trailered.

Unfortunately I had to employ my back up plan this year, not go. Fortunately our wedding is in March and that will give me 3 months to save up for gas. The rest is cheap.:thumb:

Mike drove out from Philly with his SRT-4, road coursed and dragged. Low 14's on the strip? I think he broke into the 13's on one of the last runs.

I drove my Daytona 651 miles each way, but no racing... So I don't qualify.

Yup! All on the same tires! I had to BABY it out of the hole to avoid wheel hop, but managed 13.80 @ 103mph.

The car is so much fun. 1300 miles round trip. Won my class in the car show. Beat the hell out of it on the road course, then 13's on the dragstrip the following day. The drove it home 620 miles getting 34mpg at 70-75mph (with one 140mph blast!) And I am almost done paying her off! lol

Joey "gaboon" drove about 600miles in his '87 SC & ran 11.83/11.86 @ 119 on the motor & only managed an 11.60 @ 123 with the nitrous, we couldn't get it working right. Not to mention the numerous 2nd gear parking lot burnouts :)

My SC ran a 12.45 and was driven the last 300 miles home. Some gazer broke his car at the track and tow vehicle on the way home so he had to use my car.

I have a question about the TEAM Shelby group. How involved were they? Did they participate or were a few people on hand to 'represent'? Is there truly a place for us Dodge and MOPAR lovers in their organization?

I have a question about the TEAM Shelby group. How involved were they? Did they participate or were a few people on hand to 'represent'? Is there truly a place for us Dodge and MOPAR lovers in their organization? The only folks from Team Shelby to show up were the folks that run it, Robert Lane and Sharon Elliot. They were at most of the events, but had the company van, not a Shelby Ford. Robert Lane was our guest speaker at awards night. While they have pledged to support SDAC and it's future events, they realize fully that at the current time TS has little to offer the SD enthusiast. They are working toward correcting that situation. They provided us items for the goody bags and door prizes. A very nice Team Shelby leather jacket was one of the items!

Reeves' GLHT. 2nd in 4 dr L-Bodies in car show, 1st in Quick 8 drags.

While we didn't time anyone or give out awards for the road course, Chris Still's 89 Daytona Shelby took 1st (out of 11 cars) in the G-body class in the car show, and it was very fast at Waterford Hills. Chris' Daytona is an exceptionally clean car. It is no wonder he placed in the car show, but considering how often he road races the car, you cannot tell it by looking at it.

Larry Buford's RWD Sundance won the Modified class and the Spirit Of SDAC awards at the car show, and he would have qualified into the Quick 8 field, but he was working on Angelo's car instead.

Larry is a hell of a guy and should get props for all he did on Angelo's car, Rob Lloyd too.

And there's so much fun to just hang out with. The bickering between long time friends is hilarious enough to cause a few swigs of beer to exit my nose. But still looking forward to the next time we meet.

Who was it selling the Shadow woodgrain bezel pieces at the car show? I actually didn't even look at for sale items because I had no idea where they were, but Pat saw a guy selling these pieces and I'd like to get in touch with him. Anyone have an idea who it was?
