I got some Hawk rear pads, must be for a Neon as there slightly different in design but with my new rotors, they won't fit. I won't machine the rotors down so how am I going to make the pads thinner? file? any other idea's?

Don't install the metal shim between the caliper and pads.

The FMSI# for yours is D658 AFAIK

All of the other info I saw says its for a dodge intrepid('90-94)

the .680 is the pad thickness, most of the pads for that are .614 thickness. Except I do see some .712 thickness on Hawk's site, so ???

Other than that, have no idea

Thanks, guess I'll have to grind some of the pads off.

Fixed, just ground down the pads a bit and they work now.

Did you just place sandpaper on a flat surface and sand them or did you use a grinder of some sort?

Sandpaper didn't even mark them, had to use my bench grinding wheel then a die grinder with a 4 inch disc to smoothen it down. Not very technical IE flat but close enough.

WOW!!! I wondered how hard they were. Besides, they will flatten out.:p
