(left drainback) The port on left goes to the front of the airbox. Don't plug it as it acts like a vent...

I thought that nipple was there so the oil that collects in the airbox from the pcv system could drain back into the crank case.

The line actually connects right to the front of the airbox to the small breather element...

It is indeed there to let oil drain out of the air box and back into the crank case. Earlier cars had a tiny hole that just let it drain on top of the tranny:mad:

Simon I think you already figured this out but to clarify for others the CSX vnt cars did not have this secondary tube or the hookup on the box.

I don't recall the one I have having that tube...I'll have to look tomorrow.

This is true. I T2ed my 85 GLHT and it leaves oil on the top of my 525 when I pull into high boost jerking off! (i doubt the engine work helped much) I wish I had the system that drains the oil back down into the oil pan. It'd be the shiznit!

My 90 vnt Comp Shadow had this tube and it went to the front bottom of the airbox where the little foam filter is for oil to drain out of the air box back to the oil drain back.

Lucky! I might have to improvise one day (create a catch can.. or swap some parts and get this different tube for my 85 GLHT) Cleaning the oil off the to of my 525 is very hard with the 2.5" exhaust blocking my arm movement up over the shift linkage to sop (sp) it up and out with paper towels. & I can't justify taking apart the air box or int. hoses when I see how they are hard to find nice ones of.
