Have a bunch of projects going on but I've been trying to keep
focused on getting car at least running very soon:

By very soon you mean SDAC right;)?

Top notch as always Russ:thumb: Question though, did you :thumb:use body filler on the shock towers after you reinforced them? Looks awful smooth there, gonna add four Oz's:lol:

The two front Convu Pro wheels I got were offset 2" outboard, I
cut the control arms and steering 2" on both side to pull the wheels
inside the body. To make up for the 2" sucked in down below I
actualy had to seam 2 extra inchs in the strut supports to keep
the Camber 0*. You can see the 2" section added to the strut
towers in one of the pics above. lot of work but the wheels I
barterd for cost more than I normaly spend on a complete car :)

These wheels are ridiculously light, the 10" rears with 29" slicks
mounted can be picked up with one finger!

I got all 4 Convu Pro wheels by building a Toyota guy this:

One week of working at night....priceless :)

I sold my TIG welder, Im just too impacient to spend the time.
I just spoolgun everything with a MIG and grind/sand it till
it will take a quick polish. You need a decent water cooled
TIG welder to do big hunks of aluminum like these with any
speed.

That is looking really nice Russ. I can't wait to see the times.

Personally, I think a mig can do a pretty good job. Yes, a tig makes less splatter thus a better looking weld, but it works. You do good work.:thumb:

So instead of the intake through the hood mod you're going with the turbo through the hood mod on this one? :eyebrows:

Awesome fab works as always on your rides. :hail:

That was the plan before I even got this chassis :thumb:

As time goes on and I tweak the motor mounts for different
reasons it's looking like the hood wont be much of a hood.......
think your gonna get a close up look at some cam gears
spinning as well as the forward most portion of the valve cover.
The downside there is I need to but another $4 worth of aluminim
polish and steal some more of the kids old socks

I started to make a list of things I "have" to do, deleted it as you
would be more bored than you are now reading this............. :)

It will "run" at a minimum this year, if I had injectors and a few
odd's and ends sitting here I would be a lot more ambitous but
family first.

I promise you the car will be worth the wait, trust me.

That my friend is what always holds up my projects, but its priorities like that, that a lot more people should put first. Nice work on the car, and I too look forward to seeing it in person. I've always wanted to visit Alaska, my goal is to restore my GLHS and drive it to its selling dealer, in Ankorage AK!:thumb: Family first, but someday.

Got to take care of the family.

I have no doubts it will be worth the wait....

I hate to bring this old thread back but russ what belt did you use with that engine in order to use the stock idler pulley as well. From what I have seen the 249 belt is too short to do that.

I thought that was the smaller 2.5 tall block tentioner
and the 2.0 idler with the Nissan 3.0 dohc belt...I'll
check again to be sure.

The early tall block idlers are smaller when customizing.

There is a bit of meat near our tentioners to drill/tap with
no worries about coolant.

Downloading all my PICS this week from AOL (there
closing shop for free web space) and will have a bunch
I saved for reference, bother me if I forget.

Im still dragging my feet, building a motor for
my plow truck, just got a 72 Bronco Im messing with
as well as trying to curb my drinking problem..summer.

Just was checking because I wanted to make sure that I would clear the thermostat housing with no issue and your setup looks perfect.
Thanks!!!
