Two high compression Mopar 2.2 liter single overhead cam engines for sale.
They were assembled by Hasselgren Engineering, www.hasselgren.com a reputable builder of "high end" race engines and used in Formula 2 road racing competition. These have an iron block and aluminum head, a dry sump oil system, crankshaft trigger ignition, side-draft manifolds and carburetors. The block casting numbers and dates show them to be the desired "tall" deck blocks.

Dyno and test time only. No track time. The price per engine is $2000.dollars or the pair for $3000.dollars. Includes metal shipping racks. Send me an email for photos.

Thanks!

Wow! 60 plus views and not a single inquiry. This IS a Mopar enthusiasts website isn't it? :D :D :D

I have been watching the discussion on TD about the engines. Wish I had the means and a place to put them :)

Delivery to areas between Kansas and Portland, Oregon may be an option.
I need to deliver a race car to Portland in the next few weeks.

I have a race car to pick up near Kalamazoo, Michigan but it may not occur until the last of May or June.

Thanks!

Sounds like an interesting engine.
Might find a buyer through Grass Roots Motorsports as these sound a bit more geared to SCCA stuff than turbo stuff. I will send the link to a buddy who races IT and has been thinking about changing classes.

Thanks Richard!

Too bad this site doesn't have the capability to host photos. These engines are very impressive to look at. I hope the person who buys them lives nearby. I want to hear them once they are installed and running.

I called Bill Lambros about these. His voice changed when he asked for info. Thought he would buy them.. They would be nice in a mid engine chassis/body made for them.

I received an email from Bill Lambros and sent him photos and details. He never wrote back so I assumed he was not interested or just got too busy with other projects and forgot about them. Thanks for trying....

Can't believe someone hasn't asked...how much power did they make?

Can't believe someone hasn't asked...how much power did they make?

The build sheets and dyno records have been lost. However, my research indicates that similarly powered Mexican Formula 2 cars (the application for these engines) produced 225 hp, naturally aspirated. The performance was limited on purpose due to limitations of the chassis and the use of 93 octane pump gasoline.

I will deliver these engines to a reputable Mopar builder to be disassembled and inspected as a condition of sale. This would protect a prospective buyer from being cheated. However, the buyer must pay the freight bill upfront unless a shop is located nearby in Kansas. Trucking costs for 600 pounds is about $400.dollars (code 70 from terminal 67401) as quoted by Roadway Express.

Send me an email for a file of detailed photos showing the exterior of these engines.
