I have been having horrible issues trying to get my 5-speed swap running on the automatic harness...

If anyone has one of these I would be very happy as I need to get this thing running asap!!

It will be going in an AA body, I know the wiring isn't the same as other cars AND spirit never came with an A543, so I may have fitment issues, but I need to try none the less.

Thanks.

Is the a543 an auto tranny (I'm unfamiliar with the 3.0 stuff).

If so, I believe I got what you need. LMK and I can dig it out and get you pics. tomorrow. The wiring harness would have came out of a 94 Shadow Duster 3.0 V6 Auto car.

The A543 is the 5speed for the v6. Nathan, I've got a 90 daytona v6 5speed engine harness along with a 93 v6 5speed shadow engine harness. $150 each

A FSM is your friend as far as that goes to find out where the stupid 604 crap splices in. If you can get a 3.0/A670 harness from an AA body and then use 5 speed stuff from a 5 speed car harness you will probably have the best luck.

I have an 3.0L/A604 harness that I cut all of the auto tranny stuff out of, but its in pretty rough shape.

What would i need to add to it in order to have a 5-speed harness?

All I can think of would be the backup light sensor, and maybe a clutch/neutral safety switch (Which by the way, where is that sucker?)

Am I missing anything?

Thanks

A670....... Which trans is that? The 3 speed w/o OD? I forget, but i know my harness is for the A604.

yep the 670 is the 3 speed non computer controlled one. finding a harness for one of them in a aa is possible, junked one earlier this year and kept the computer but left the harness D'oh

EEEK thats a VERY desirable harness for that reason.. More common than one might think though. Yeah all you need is the neutral switch and backup light switch. IN the A670 flavor you have a 3 wire switch for the neutral and backup light along with a 2 wire for the LTC. with a stick you basically have a wire that goes to ground and wire that goes to the starter relay I believe for the solenoid wire. The backup light one is similar in operation. I will try and see if there is anything usable when I go to my local JY.
