Anyone have any pics of how they intercooled their mini. I have a stock 2.5 auto with a stock Garrett T-II turbo and when the weather warms up I plan on intercooling. I am looking for ideas on how to use any of the intercoolers I have on hand.

1 Volvo with plastic tanks
2 1st gen Talons
1 Stock T IV
1 Starion

Thanks

weld the two talon coolers together or use the starion.

local mini owner has a dual talon core unit in his van, seems to work well for him (low 14's on a pretty mild setup)

Depends, do you have A/C?

My install with a/c. I am really thinking about ditching it and going with a water cooler though.

While this is no doubt a good idea I don't have the time, energy or $$ right now to tackle welding the two coolers together. I am looking for the easy way out!!!

Thanks
Randy

It has A/C along with all the other LX options but it's not working so I might get rid of it if it makes intercooling any easier.

Thanks
Randy

I'm the Saskatoon local with the double dsm core cooler in a mini, and it is likely for sale. I'm switching the driveline into an 89 Horizon once the snow is gone and this cooler won't work. It sits where the condenser was, I moved the condenser in front of the rad. Worked ok when we did have some hot days in summer, with a 180 stat.

The cooler worked very well. The van did a best of 14.52 @ 90 on borrowed slicks, with the cooler, extra injector, and 18 lbs of boost from a Garret.

It's not pretty, the local welder that put it together didn't really understand. Pm me if you are interested. I'll take some pics if I remember.

I'm using a probe IC w/ no AC.

Having A/C makes it alot harder. I used a Gen 2 RX7 IC, its mounted in front of my rad and got me a 14.1@95 mph on street tires on a basically stock engine with a TIII turbo. They say the IC is good for 300 crank HP and yep, I am maxed out at that number, even with my current setup and hybrid turbo.
I now have a Bell unit that flows 725 cfm and its going where my condensor was and my condensor is going in front of the rad. I will take lots of pics, should be doing it in a few weeks.

Not to rob the thread....but I have a Spearco ic and its going in my mini and I have a question. The core is 3.5"x6"x9 1/4", I think Spearco's website is screwed up, they rate that core at like 540 cfm....does that sound right? 2 1/4" inlet/outlet on same side. It's mounted where the ac condenser went and it looks like it will be very tight at the alternator. Built an air dam behind grill and cold air intake goes under dam to keep water off of the filter.

Sounds about right. Also about the same flow as 2 TII stockers welded together.
