What brand do you guys recommend for a/f and boost guages??
Does any one have any pics of aftermarket guages installed in an l-body?

I am going to be running all autometer ultralite series gauges in my 88 CSX-T my boost gauge is a 30/30 gauge (reads 30inHg and 30psi) for a air/fuel ratio gauge i would suggest nothing less than a wideband i am going to be running a AEM wideband they seem like the most easy and accurate gauge setup.

I like the Autometer 'Z' Gages. I have them in a dual a pillar pod.

I also like some of the VDO vision gages. I have 3 of them in my center console they look as good and are slightly cheaper if I remember correctly.

I have Automter gauges in my car. I'm less than happy with them. The boost gauge is off about 2-3 psi and the shift light on my tach never worked correctly. I'm looking at some Stewart Warner gauges to replace them with.

I believe the digital readout is FWDPerformances TrimCal? But do they say ND electronics on them?

I have been reading posts nearly identical to yours more and more latly. If I had to do it all over again, I would have gone with a different brand too.

Looks like I will have to take some pics of my gauges for the site. I thought that I had a page for them, but I guess not.

The '03 SRT-4 Auto Meter boost gauge I had in my GLHS was off too, really bad on the vacuum side. Replaced it w/ a working one oout of an '04, and I now suddenly have 19" of vacuum at idle, instead of 10-12" as the '03 showed:confused: POS Looking like it was off on the boost side too, and it was very notchy in operation. I think I'm gonna get a Trust or HKS boost gauge later on.

Seems like alot of people have trouble with boost guages of any manufacturer. When I worked at the speed shop... we would get returns on Autometer boost guages. More than half of the time we "fixed" the guage by cleaning out teflon tape or mung that had gotten into the orrifice on the back of the guage, or I would try it out in my car and it worked perfectly well.

It's not just the boost gauges. This gauge of mine is practically new. I believe it's Autometer.

Maybe it's just newer stuff. The Autometers in my car are pretty old. I did recently replace my boost guage with a SW guage, because it reads 30in vac and up to 40psi boost. And I really like it.

Most of the ones I hear of with problems are the newer ones.

autometer gauges, 0-30 psi boost on top and a/f ratio narrow-band on bottom:

i am ditching that semi-useless narrowband gauge for the much better AEM wide-band:

1986TURBOZ what l-body do you have?

I have a 86 Shelby Charger, it is still TI log right now, but the car has no boost guage so I want to get an idea of what it is doing, same with the a/f.

"...I want to get an idea of what it is doing, same with the a/f...."

good idea. no matter what gauges you select it will be better than factory (no gauges).

what kind of pod is that??

Not sure, I got it from DodgeZ, before that another buddy had it. I belive it may have came from FWD-P? Could have been made from something else. Looks like it may have been cut off a 2-gauge pillar pod.
