Recently came into this news release and publicity photo for 'sports car builder Carroll Shelby's' latest concept car.

Just got a scanner on my computer, so I thought I'd post it for others to see as I've never seen this before.

**UPDATE**
Added two more two-page documents included with the news release materials. Pretty much sounds like an '89 CSX, and give a sentence about the 600-hp engine. Guess none were produced?

34 psi with a SC61 will do it with the TIII head :)

It's nice to see that truth in advertising was alive and well in 1989! Anybody have the production numbers on the 600hp race engines option? :D

I know I'm reviving an OLD thread...I stumbled across it looking for something else.

Anyway, interesting things listed in this press release.

The "racing head" was supposed to be the Hans Herman head.

The FD ratio for the tranny was going to be 3.56, not the typical 3.85 found in the A555 or A568 (or any of the other trannies for that matter).

The front swaybar was just over 1" and SMALLER than the rear swaybar, which was just over 1-1/8".

The street turbo was to be the VNT.

In all the whole thing sounds more like what was supposed to be the 1990 CSX that unfortunately never was (except the one prototype that still survives).

225HP out of the VNT? Now that's a lofty goal!
