Anyone know anything about these little cars? A friend of me offered me one for cheap the other day, but the bad thing is that its been sitting for a few years, and he picked it up with a seized motor.... no oil, no water. He told me he has a parts car that goes with it, but its a NA. Any one know how different they are? Im sure finding a decent turbo motor would be like trying to find a needle in haystack.

BTW, looking for good MPG while still fun to drive. so a 4g63 swap is out. lol.

I have an '89 Mirage Turbo that I did a 4G63T swap on.

What year is the car your friend has?

My Mirage gets 22 around town(MBC set to 13psi), and because it has uber short gears, does almost 4500RPM(which is really nothing for a 4G63T) at 80MPH, and get's 29-31 on the highway.

Buy it, or better yet, let me buy it. I bought one new in Dec. 1983, one of the best cars I've ever owned. Its not super fast but just a great car, I averaged 31 mpg for the 150k miles I drove it

yea, first year for it, I still have the decal that was stuck on the rear window at the dealer, it said
"Don't step on the gas unless you really mean it!" The car is a 4sp with a second lever for high and low gears, pretty cool

The motor might be kind of hard to find for that now-a-days, but if you can find one for it, pick it up!

There used to be a lady in the tri state area that always took her Colt Turbo to the Tri-state Mopar, Lake eerie division, annual show up in Albion PA. It was a nice little car, but far uglier than a GLH Turbo. I'm not cutting on the GLH's, I own one, my dad has 1 GLHT and 2 GLHS'.

I had a charcoal gray 84 turbo colt. GREAT CAR! With that little turbo, there was virtually zero lag. My two favorite colors on the turbo colt was either the silver or white. Also came in black and red. That twin stick tranny is pretty cool. You could overdrive each gear! Got 30+ MPG in town no matter how hard you drove it. Sold it when I relocated down to San Antonio, TX. Wish I still had the car.

I put a larger turbo and bigger exhaust and bumped boost to like 13 PSI. Went 14.50's in pure street trim without intercooler. It was around a 16.0 car stock. Earlier years also had aluminum bumpers vs. later model steel ones so you could make em even lighter. They were only like 1850 lbs. I'll have to post some pics tomorrow.

I always wanted to buy a 4-dr 84 colt and turbo that. Quite a bit more rear legroom in the 4 drs. More practical just like the 4 dr Omni's and Shadows vs. their 2 dr. counterparts.

My advice, buy it.

I found a picture of my old car. The picture was taken in the summer of 1985

yea, heheeh, among other things later, I would hate to think I started the "tuner craze". I did think the JAPAR name would stick tho
