I'm looking for a good condition leather steering wheel with air bag for a Daytona or Lebaron.

Needs to look like this. Let me know what you have. Thanks.

89

I'm not sure if 88 have the option of air bag, if it does, it's the same wheel.

88 no air bag and no leather. 89 two choices: part numbers: P097HA7 gray or P097HS9 charcoal. They are close but different and should have that number on a paper tag inside the wheel.

I agree with Martin concerning no leather on the '88 but they did have an airbag late in production. My late '88 had the airbag setup but had the standard vinyl rim. My black car came with leather seats and according to the dealer brochure all leather seat cars came with a leather wheel. I think this was true for the standard wheel but not the airbag setup.

This would have been the standard wheel with leather.

Here's what I did on my late '88 with the airbag setup. I replaced
the standard airbag wheel (the one in your picture) with one
from a 1990 or newer. I had to use the airbag for that year of
wheel as the '88 bag will not fit the newer wheel. I also used the
blank trim from a '90 or newer to install where the cruise buttons
were.

Hope this helps

I have a very nice black leather 90 Daytona wheel like the one in Tony's pic with the air bag for $75. Let me know if your interested.

Tony, why wouldn't the air bag from an 89 fit in the 90 wheel? It looks like if you remove the back piece and replace it with one from an 89 wheel the bag would bolt in the same. I did notice the little tabs for the cruise switch hang down a bit further, but I wasn't sure if they would interfere or not.

Pictures? Not sure if I like the color.

Picture I have in the picture post, the wheel is covered by a wheel cover, of course.

I have been trying to find a leather gray wheel for an 89' LeBaron to no avail. I know that you can get them new from the dealer for about $500. If anyone is sure if the 90 wheel will fit, I'd like to know.

Well, if I dont sell this black 90 wheel before I find a maroon 89 air bag and backing I will let you know. Luckily I was able to find a complete 89 steering column from a 26K mile car in tan for the wifes 89 GTC. Now I'm afraid to install it for fear of her damaging it.

My 88 Shadow ES had this steering wheel. It was leather-wrapped exactly like yours. It was the most comfortable wheel I've used for long trips. Hands rest perfectly on the spokes.

Looks like there was a leather wheel in '89!

Would like to have found one of those for my '88

IIRC the mounting holes for the bag were in a different place. Also the 4
spokes may have been off........can't remember. Will go over to the garage in
town tomorrow and see what the difference is. Will take some pics if
I still have an extra 90+ wheel laying around. I know I still have the
vinyl '88 and '89 setup.

I agree Russ. I have upgraded to the leather wheel on my red '88

If your willing to go with a 90 or newer gray wheel I know where theres one at. Its a gray wheel with black leather in decent shape.
