View Full Version : SDAC-Chicago May 10 Meeting/BBQ

Mark your calendars!

Saturday May 10th is the next SDAC-Chicago meeting.

The meeting will be at my house in Lake Villa, IL. From 4pm until ??

Food will be burgers/brats/hot dogs again. Last year we had two grills running to keep everybody fed, and I'm pretty sure nobody left hungry. Coolers filled with a selection of beverages will also be there.

This is a mostly outdoors event so come dressed for the weather. It's a rain or shine deal so in the event of rain there will be shelter in the garage and under canopies. Weather permitting I will have a bonfire in the evening. Also should have the bean bags setup in the side yard.

My place is about an hour from Milwaukee, and a hour from Chicago, so it's a great opportunity for the southern WI folks to head out as well. The more the merrier, and no need to be an official SDAC-Chicago member to attend anybody that is an enthusiast of fwd Mopars (or even Mopars in general) is welcome.

Please let me know if you plan on attending so I can estimate the amount of food to get. Directions will be included in the upcoming SDAC-Chicago newsletter, but for those that are non-members just send me a PM and I'll get directions to you.

I have Tron too... but it's on the old CED format so nobody can play it (unlesss someone actually has a CED Video Disc player besides myself anymore).

I have TRON on DVD, but I suspect the nerd ratio won't quite be high enough for that one. Never gets old for me, though, so LMK and I can bring it.

Wow, I thought I was the last dude in Chicago with a RCA CED player! My house came with it and a couple milk crates of movies... then I picked up a couple more off of ebay. :thumb:

TRON rules, was a badass arcade game too! Although it has light cycles, might need more of a 'car'/'mopar' theme tho ;)

Heh, I love vintage technology. I have two RCA CED Selectavision SJT200 units, two laserdisc players (one Pioneer basic model and an RCA Home Theatre high end unit), and lots of old video games. I need a betamax VCR tho...

I've got lots of firewood and usually pick up a few cases of beer, we haven't run out before, but there's always room in the cooler for more.

Jim, remind me again what parts you need so I can have them there.

Dirty Mary Crazy Larry is a classic, War games is great, too. I could get out my RC Teradactyl and buzz the crowd.

Tron on the big screen would cool, my garage door is almost a perfect widescreen aspect ratio.

A little bit, less than 100 miles so far with a load, plan on putting 1300 miles on it over memorial day weekend towing a car to Iowa and another one back from South Dakota. It does well, the thing that impressed me the most is the brakes, even with the trailer brakes it just feels way more in control than my 1/2 ton ever did.

Ordered a hitch adapter with more drop so I can get the trailer level. Also have a new mirror on it's way, just need to get the tailgate fixed and I'll be all set.

They really did a good job on the newer rams with the brakes. They are Huge compared to the 02 and downs.I never had a problem stopping a big trailer with them.

I put $80 in mine last week from dead E.It gave me almost 3/4 of a tank.Thought i was going to run out of fuel.Glad i made it cause i saved .27 a gallon. It was 4.49 for Diesel in Plano and 4.22 at the Walmart in oswego.
