for those who have installed one, how did you hook up the wires? i have tried boxes so far and the car wont start with either box hooked up

The MSD just goes in line with the factory coil wires... colors of the mopar harness may vary by year, these are from an '87 CSX... should go something like this:

black (thick) - battery (-)
red (thick) - battery (+)
red (thin) wire - green w/ black trace (mopar harness)
white wire - black w/ yellow trace (harness)
orange - Coil (+)
black (thin) coil (-)
