I got new 11" brakes going on my CSXT & I want everything to be new on them. One of the spindles I have for the swap is bad, so I am going to just replace both with fresh bearings.

Where is the best place to buy hub assemblies or should I just have the bearings changed out? (This is for 89 Daytona Shelby Brakes that bolt in, not press in)

Pep Boys had Brazilian made hubs for $90, a side a couple years ago when I changed them on my TC. Brazilian is fine by me, steering clear of India and China whenever possible...

Just change out the bearings.

Better yet, leave the old bearings in, sand blast them, paint them, then pull the old bearings out, clean and put the new ones in.

You can't buy JUST the bearings, they come complete as a unit.

Simon - I've bought just the bearings several times! (where the SC had crash damage it went through a phase of eating them :() Its false economy though, and would recommend getting new complete assemblies (yay for cheap ones on ebay :)).

In 89 the bearings bolt in. They aren't like the early years that press in.

Your confusing what you have, you have a pressed in bearing. HE has a bolt in flanged wheel bearing. Completely seperate designs and the hub unit is not serviceable, :p
