New 2.5" exhaust was put on but the muffler guy threw on some shitty rice can.

Right now the engine is being rebuilt after my dad blew it up. We have an IC/radiator combo but we took the car out for a spin before we installed it and ran the thing a little hard with 15 PSI from the tiny mitsu.

Absolutely will be at the track this year. I hope to get a few shake down runs in before july 19. I need to get my cage certified and get the tech inspection done. This year will be lucky to see 11's I won't be running much boost for a little bit.

The hoodscoop you see is the Direct Connection duel inlet hoodscoop. Someday it'll be put to good use :eyebrows:

Dashes were boxier in the early Chargers. But again, there's still something more evident, unless the 83s came this way, but I've never seen one like it before. Keep looking. Don't look too much into it. :thumb:

Well Pat just told me I'm wrong, as 83s came this way:

Look at the door panel. The silver trim piece IMO was backwards, but my bro. says that was specific to the 83s. I never noticed it before and at first thought either the people who owned that car (selling it on eBay currently) had a custom reupholstery job done or reversed the picture somehow? HAHA I guess I'm wrong though :(

The '83.5 SC had a lot of little unique parts. The dash, door panels, carpet, shift knob, even the standard radio had turn knob adjusters(think 1970s), no rear side reflectors, no brake proprtioning valve, cloth inserts on the rear inner C-pillars, and old style tail lights!

I actually favor the '83.5 SCs! They have an Old Skool feel that my '86 SC doesnt seem to have.

I knew the first Shelby Chargers had the boxy dash, but I didn't know the door panel trim piece did not follow the angle of the armrest up towards the mirror. This picture shows the angle going back towards the b-pillar which I thought was odd. The boxy dashes look really good two toned how that one is shown!

I'll put some L body pics in this thread soon, I didn't see it either:o...

minigts
05-21-2008, 02:09 PM
It's a hood I had made for the car. Scalped a 95 GT and the guy put it on and made it work. He didn't do the best job in the world, so it will need some re-work. But it has JUUUUST the right amount of height in the back, about 1.25". I really want to put an SRT-4 scoop in the front, just hard to find the scoop unscathed. I may just make it out of fiberglass once I pull it off to start working on it. And the hood is fully functional. There is a large cut out under the hood so it pulls all the hot air out and very effectively, I might add.

2.216VTurbo
05-21-2008, 05:21 PM
Hmm, I have an old Joe Varde/IMSA Charger fiberglass hood but when I put it on the S years ago, it was so flimsy without the pins it wanted to lift the corners at speed. I may rework it some and use it on the Rampage...

Hey miniGTS what color is your car? I'm thinking of settling for a standard charger and save up for an S car. whenever I get one I was thinking of doing a blue similar to that on top of black and get some centurions. Very nice though. I like to see cars that are original ideas like that.

minigts
05-22-2008, 07:55 AM
hehe Well not TOO original as it is the color of the GTS Viper when it was first introduced. Not sure the color code, but it is directly from the Viper GTS blue. I was going to go with the white stripes, but went grey to match the interior. I even had the guy do the pearl clear. LOVE the color, just wish he had done a better overall job. I was one of the first cars I think to do the stripes all the way down, front and rear. Got it painted like a year after the Viper (GTS) was introduced.

it looks bad because it isnt finished. You can lower and chrome up a turd all you want, its still a turd. Thats why we love L bodies. Thanks for the vote of confidence anyway though...

I think there is a fair amount of work in that chassis that you are not seeing Bryan... I can see a cage peeking out and I think there are more upgrades not evident in that pic.

Okay here is a pic of some of mine. Two were sold to Quack,, but I have two more. Highest mileage of the cars pictured is 66k. Lowest mileage is 16K. Can you say garage queens?:p

I really didn't mean to slap ya down Nick.:(
I really meant that yours is in that shape, but you are slowly working on it. Mine is in better shape only due to the fact that it is driveable. Otherwise, It looks like hell.

See the previous post for better explanation. I agree. Mine only looks better becuase it is almost whole. Which is what I was trying to joke about. Otherwise, mine is a wreck...lol.

I picked it up from the person who bought if off of eBay, I believe. Yes very unique paint scheme.
