i have an 89 dodge shadow 2.5L with a mitshi turbo and want to get exhaust put on it. should i get a 2.5" or a 3" exhaust? im running 10-12 pounds of boost right now and sound isn't too big of an issue and after reading posts i think im either going with a magnaflo or dynomax just not too sure on the size.

I've heard that if you put a 3in exhaust on with a mistu it spikes the boost, so i would stay to 2.5in

Depends on your goals. If your planning on keeping the Mitsu or upgrading to a Garret later and plan on miniumum racing, stick with the 2.5 inch. If going balls out, upgrade to the 3 inch. Boost control will be harder with the 3 inch but it can be done.

You can always buy a more restrictive muffler or even neck-down the tailpipe the increase back pressure to keep the Mitsu in check. If you are buying SS, then I would suggest a 3". If you are buying aluminized, then the 2.5" will have a usable life span anyway.
