O2 sensor thread size

I got a stock T2 swing valve that came with the car I'm getting, but the old O2 sensor broke off. I've got it most of the way drilled out, but would like to know the tap size if anyone has that info off hand. I don't have the new O2 yet otherwise I would have something for reference. I found a Lisle chaser that said it was 18 x 1.5 but I want to be sure.

Thanks. I'd hate to spend cash on a tap only to have it be the wrong one. Hopefully we have one at the machine shop. I had a hell of a time getting the right tap to make my B and M T handle fit on a TD shifter.

napa has them. Had to get one one night on a whim. My g/f went to schucks/kragen and she said she had a dumbfounded look when she asked for a tap for an O2 sensor. So I sent her to napa and they knew exactly what she was talking about.

lol, yeah I figured it would be easier to fix this swing valve with a tap then screw with that darn EGR crap.

That depends if getting the rest of the O2 out and getting the SV housing bolts out of the original turbo is going to be easier than just plugging the hole in the T1 SV. ;)

This is true. I think the Mapp gas should be hot enough. I've definitely noticed it seems to work much better in times like these than propane, however I wasn't even having any luck with the EGR pipe fitting on the SV. Guess I will have to see what happens. I won't know what kind of plug I would have to use until then which might be too late. I guess either way is worth a shot. I figured I'd fix this SV in case I can't get that one plugged.

MAPP and O2 work great! Propane and O2 are good too. Heat and a good rust penetrant are the way to go. IMHO

PB blaster with mapp on some fuel tank strap studs have gotten me by pretty good. I've won the battle on 2 cars now doing it that way versus not having the balls to use any heat whatsoever back there. Just make sure your doing it with a closed fuel system:thumb:
